I think Stephen A and these other people telling guys to stay in school to avoid being drafted by a bad team is weak sauce. If you are ready to go you go.

Should only return for another year if your game isnt ready.

Plus they only get so many years they can play

If they stay in college they ultimately lose a year of nfl salary

And that is a back end year which is higher

The Jets and Browns have proved to be bad organizations for young QBs.

Avoiding them is cowardly. If you’re good, teams will recognize it’s the team and not the player and he’ll get an opportunity to play for a better team in free agency.

I've been saying since we drafted him that we need to develop Howard.... that said, we still need another young qb in the fold ....
Mason Rudolph fills the veteran need that the coaching staff feels that we need so badly..

As far as the other young guy is concerned, I would use either our extra 3rd or our extra 4th and take a flyer on Trinidad Chambliss... he just had his request for a 6th yr of eligibility denied, so he will be available if some desperate team doesn't reach for him early

    My Friend....
Actually no answer would be completely accurate, unless we wait some years, and then look back, and actually that could be left to opinions also. It's all relative.

I do not follow college football at all but I saw the Chambliss name pop up yesterday and was curious. I really like Howard but others seem
to think because he was a 6th round pick, he is not good enough. Sure wish we could have seen him play this year.

    I did as requested

    My answer is correct

    Let me help you

The question you seem to want an answer to may be:

“How many Qbs coming out this year do you think may be better than Will Howard??”

I don't need any help. Again go back, and read the whole opening comment, not just a piece. It seems just you , and one other didn't understand the question.
Never once did I ask who is going to be better, but who You thought would be better, and if You go back to your 1st answer, it said nothing besides who was pick above him.
So you think that whomever is picked before a guy is better???
So by that example: Tua is better than Justin Herbert, and Jordan Love?
Eli Manning, and Philip Rivers is better than Ben?
Mitch Trubisky is better than Mahomes?
It would be easier to just say You didn't have an opinion.

Avoiding crappy teams worked out well for Elway and Eli Manning .

I believe Elway would have eventually worked for anyone, but I agree with Eli

I think his inconsistencies are mainly due to that lack of starting experience. He has pretty good command of the offense and he seems to know how to manipulate defenses. His tape has been super good at times and super not so good other times... If we believed that we could get him the reps (he probably needs to just start and work his way through QB'ing at the NFL level) necessary to make his play a lot more of the super good and less of the not so good... he might be worth a try.

Well, yes. Rodgers has been mostly quite good for us, but he's a very short term solution. Our WR room is simply atrocious outside of Metcalf. He might be the only WR aside from Skowronek (ST reasons) that is actually worth keeping around next season. That room has to be overhauled if we want to improve on offense. Our TE's and RB's are very good and the young OL turned into a strong unit. We obviously will have to replace Seumalo sooner or later, but its not the most pressing thing in the world. Defensively we probably need to think about signing a CB to compete for CB2 with Pierre. Heyward will need replaced soon (he's seemingly immortal, but father time wins eventually) and we could stand to grab a second ILB. S would look a lot better if Elliott was around. Dugger has been a fine enough player (I'd consider bringing him back as a 3rd S), but he's not as good as Elliott. We have a few deficiencies on the roster, but with the salary cap, its really hard to have a really perfect roster for more than a couple years consecutively.

I try to bring Rodgers back regardless of whether or not we draft a QB. The next QB doesn't HAVE to be a day one starter. But if we are truly going after a rebuild (which would indicate that Tomlin is out at HC for whatever reason), then yeah... build the team with this year's draft and throw Howard to the wolves next season. If we suck, then oh well, go grab a QB and make the rest of the roster really good to insulate the young player.
