Houston Texans are 0-6 on the road in all of their playoff games. Steelers have lost 6 in a row in the post-season. What will give? Steelers are 5-3 against the Texans all time but haven't met in post season. Texans only played 1 game this year with temp below 27 degrees when they beat KC 20-10 where PM threw 3 INTs. Just busy stats that don't mean a thing. MNF is the best thing going for our team!

The Houston Texans' last win in below-freezing temperatures was likely on December 7, 2008, at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers (24-21)

I would assume there are no players left in Houston that were on the team the last time the Texas won a cold weather game.

That was the first thing I wanted to look up.
In their last 7 games, the Texans played 4 at home (Houston), 1 in a stadium (Indianapolis), and another in LA.
That just leaves the KC game, where it was just below freezing, but they were also +3 in turnover differential.

In the KC game, Stroud completed less than half of his passes. Hopefully the cold this Monday will have a similar effect.

In the 5 previous playoff loses, the Steelers were -2 in turnover differential for Buffalo (2023) and Jacksonville (2017), and -5 in Cleveland (2020).
This season, the Steelers were 4th best in both low giveaways and high takeaways. However, Houston is even better (2nd best in giveaways, 3rd in takeaways). The turnover differential will have a huge influence on the game outcome.

Agree on all three points but specially no 2. AR needs time to pass - downfield. I noticed he started doing that last week later as the game progressed, after he got comfortable. If the texans get to him early were in trouble. Gainwell or Warren need to stay in to help pass block.

that will help open up the run also

I just don’t think they had a killer mentality. They knew Tennessee wasn’t winning. Now if they wanted the 5 seed maybe.

    • Hold HOU to under 20 pts; they are 1-5 in those games, the Steelers are 5-1 when they do the same to opponents.
    • Find a way for the Steeler receivers to beat press man coverage cause HOU will do exactly what the Browns did and force Rodgers to hold the ball a tick longer.

I would feel REALLY good going into the playoffs if MVS played a bit better. I thought he had better hands than he has showed so far.

They could really use Washington at TE this game to help block the Texans pass rush.

Yes! I believe the oline is the biggest key except for turnovers. If the line can give Rodgers that extra time to make his reads he has the talent to make them pay. Keep his jersey clean.

I read they rested players throughout the game. I am not sure when Houston pulled players or even when or if they did but I read that as an excuse for Indy putting up 30 points

‘I think he is close to washed up. Maybe having Metcalf back though and taking the heat from Texans best players will allow our other receivers some separation and play making capabilities. He definitely is not a #1 WR.

I agree fully. The underneath throws just aren't going to work against the Texans. They tackle too well. Not that you can't do some of it, but you can't rely solely on it.

It really sucks that we don't have Washington who could punish them for some of those tackles

They will put Stingley one on one with Metcalf. He's not a great separator.

I heard briefly that you can run up the middle on them... this is a perfect game for Jalen Warren!

I'm hoping Harmon comes alive along with Metcalf. Love having Washington right about now. Like our chances if Rodgers is on.

    Totally agree. Nice post.
Also, if you are in field goal range, take the points on 4th down until you can't.
