Just read that over the last 4 games the Steelers have only allowed 8 yards of offense in the third quarter

Steelers stopped Henry from 2nd quarter through 4th. If Steelers can figure out how to play football... on both sides of the ball in the first quarter, we can make a run.

Allen x 2. He's that good. Best QB in the playoffs, IMO.

If we lost, this would have been the biggest "what if" moment for me.

Just like Herbig not getting the pick-6 was last week.

Steelers have yet to put 60 minutes of quality football together all season long. Still waiting. They usually look like crap either in the first quarter or from mid-3rd quarter to end of game when they lost games to Packers, Bears, Bills, Seahawks, Bengals.

He fell off the cliff when the allegations started coming out. I am sure that his attorneys were already in contact with a lot of other attorneys by the time we heard anything about it. He had to be thinking all about DeShawn Watson and his situation. I am sure that his mind was not focused on football at all for much of the year.

Add in to that, both sides of the ball seldom have a good day on the same day as well.

Funny how people make excuses for other teams when their players get hurt, but when our players get hurt......well they should just coach them up harder/better.
So I don't want to hear excuses for another team that our so called Steelers fans don't give for our own coaching staff. Yet because I believe in judging people equally this somehow make me a Lover.

But also the near slavish adherence to playing your zone in the secondary. On both plays there are guys standing still without a single WR/TE/RB within 10 yards of their zone. Ramsey made 3 bonehead decisions in this game but the rest of the secondary were right there with him. Who was Samuels looking at backside on that second play for TD that Flowers had.

Ok people when You send these so called exotic blitz, that means not send the same players per usual, and that means one of the players will have to cover a player for a short time that they don't usually have to. All teams do this. If Your so called exotic blitz doesn't get home , you can be f**ked. This is why HCs like to just bring the front 4 if they can.
What I'm trying to say is You can't b!+ch about not sending certain blitzes, and then complain if they don't get the Qb. If Highsmith, and Benton get the Qb like it was designed for, we aren't complaining about the play.

Yeah, tipped ball just bounced the Steelers' way. Though, TJ Watt making the play certainly helps. That type of ball gets dropped a lot by defensive linemen/edge rushers. Great job hanging on.

    Exactly.
We have seen easier ints dropped multiple times this season.

We started winning first down (and the Ravens had a few costly penalties that backed them up. They still should've ran him more the second half though. The broken play on the missed sack and the blown coverage really was almost the entire offensive output in the second half for the Ravens though. Sucks to give up the big play, but after the first quarter (Tomlin really needs to find a way to scheme us at least EVEN to start the game and not continuously dig us holes in big games) the defense did pretty well. If we clean up those two plays, that game looks way different imo.

I definitely noticed that. Hamilton went out and all of the sudden the TE's started getting open (Muth in particular). It definitely opened the middle of the field up for us a lot when he left the game.

they've had problems communicating all season. Thats one reason why they need to look into a DC replacement.

I wonder how much of Benton not planting Jackson was because of Jackson being crafty or the Steelers being gun shy about roughing the passer calls. That BS call last week may have made them overly cautious. Old days you take aim at his center mass and bury him. These days you have plays like during the final drive where you have him but instead of flinging him to the ground you try to get him out of bounds and he throws the ball away instead of a huge loss.

Of course that has a huge impact on it. I said before with older NFL rules not only doesn't Lamar Jackson get away, he might not finish the game.

LoL. Yeah that's one example. Didn't we have a game this year where we had 5 dropped ints in that one game.
