Not bragging man, trying to get through to you the foolishness of trying to diminish peoples opinion's by throwing in their face about things they have been wrong about. All you are doing is diminishing your own opinion unless you actually believe you are never wrong which I just proved you have been by citing two things off the top of my head.

And I think judging the guy by one game that most of what he did was in garbage time already, is jumping the gun that he is any different than what he has already been. I've seen nothing that actually shows he has actually progressed. This IMO is like picking out Masons best games, and saying see he's better. Again this is just My opinion. I believe if You are going to go that route, go cheaper, bigger, stronger, and faster.

OMG, and You make fun of @Formerscribe@Formerscribe You have no business doing so.
I said it in joke, that the guy that wants Willis so much happens to be the guy that want us to draft him in the 1st round, but your fragile ego took it as a slight. LoL. With that Saif, I must run. I guess You are so obsessed you can't even answer the rest of the post that I sent you. Have a wonderful night.

If thats how you meant it than I got that wrong, my mistake, sorry. In my defense you do try to discredit peoples opinions by bringing up things they were wrong about.

It wasnt just one game, he’s been playing well every time hes been called upon. That was his first full game I believe and did very well.

I think Willis is just as much of a risk as Fields was (maybe more so since Fields had been a full time starter in the past and Willis hasn't), but that doesn't mean we shouldn't do it. He seems to have developed into at least a solid back up at the very least after looking like he didn't even belong in the league his first few seasons in Tennessee. Maybe he is a starting caliber guy week in and week out. Maybe he isn't. Maybe its just LaFleur's system.... But if Rodgers isn't back and we aren't drafting a QB, bringing Willis in on a one or two year deal (with a second year out) might not be a bad idea. It would lock him in as the starter and allow Howard to compete. If Willis flops, we play Howard the rest of the way and then decide if we're gearing up for a QB in 2027. If he works out, then we have a starter to build around.

The only thing that complicates things is what were doing at HC. There is a lot up in the air going into tomorrow... Ultimately that will be the first domino to what we're doing next season at QB.

I think I’ve seen Willis make more good plays with his arm in 2 weeks than I saw Fields make in his entire career.

Exactly at the very least they’d have a solid backup. Where that gets tricky is he will almost certainly get more than backup money, someone will sign him to start. He could get a contract like Fields got. Jets are regretting that decision but as far as I am concerned, Willis looks better than Fields.

He’s done very well in GB.

I say work the guy out. Darnold used to be a punchline, now he's got the #1 seed in the NFC. Lots of things go into making a starting QB. Willis will be a free agent. What does it hurt to work him out.

Agree, but he may be “signed” on the first day of the legal tampering period, so we may need to make a commitment w/o the benefit of a workout. QB needy teams can get aggressive.

And this is why I say if your going to go the running Qb route go , cheaper, faster, stronger, and bigger, and definitely cheaper. The guy is 6 foot, and that's pushing it. Another shrimp Qb that can't see over his line, and has to move around his entire career to find open passing lanes. I'm not saying it can't work, but why make it Harder???
There is a Qb called T. Green who is faster, way taller, stronger, with a stronger arm, and will be way cheaper.

Willis has progressed tremendously since college. Do you remember him as the college QB that we both scoffed at drafting 4 years ago? That guy was years away, and now we’re 4 years in and he is undeniably capable of at least being a solid backup. How long will it take T. green to develop to where he can produce in any NFL scheme? I’m not saying break the piggy bank open for him, but he’s doing things that I never envisioned him doing 4 years ago. He’s made some great reads and throws.

He`s old. He won`t play at a high level continuously. I say we rip the band-aid off.

Are we just going to leave off that he's barely 6 foot??
He is not going to get paid like a backup, just like Justin Fields wasn't paid like a backup even though they both should be.
All I'm saying if You are going to go that route, do it cheaper, faster, bigger, stronger armed, and did I say cheaper.
You will probably get this guy in the 2nd, or 3rd round.

I agree that a 6th round pick has the odds stacked against him and I make no claims that he is the future.......But, perhaps he has a future as the team QB2? Rudolph has been a good back up, but he has impressed less this year than in previous years when he was in the game. Maybe Howard can move into that spot? It would save us a few million a year that can be put towards another area of need. Perhaps the defense? I think they need to spend more there........lol

I don't worry about Rodgers ability as a QB... if he decides to return for '26. I worry about his durability. Can he hold up for an entire season? Will the Steelers get him a legit #2 WR? Will Metcalf return or will Steelers void his contract after Lions game debacle? Then Steelers will need both #1 and #2 WR.

I agree, but in all reality all Rookie Qbs are projects, and You could get this project for probably a 3rd round.

I agree. The brain is there. The experience is there. He needs 3 things to improve IMO.

    1. Our run game needs to become more consistent and reliable. We can't have games where we get 30 yards of rushing.
    2. The QB must have some better pass weapons. We have a WR1, and several WR3/3.5s. We need a legit #2 to make those defenses have to make some hard choices.
    3. Our Oline must protect him better. This one is closer than the other points IMO. Our offense has been fairly consistent and they have improved as the season progressed despite some key spot injuries. With another year under the belt, I expect to see our young Oline become even better and actually be talked about as a top 10 Oline.

We need to go get us a franchise QB that is young and hungry along with a coach that he could work with. Riley Leonard is a 3rd string QB finally getting some snaps and he is so much like Big Ben. He is big strong and throws the **** out of a football. That is what we need! Not patchwork QBs that are only padding their retirement.
