    How bad is Jonnu Smith?

    Welp,
    • Despite getting 11% of team tgts, his catch rate (62%) is the bottom 15%tile for all TEs.
    Don't like that? How about;
    • 5.2 YAC being the lowest of his career
    Or maybe;
    • <1 yd per route run (15%tile)
    Meanwhile, Muth beats every metric of Jonnu's by a large margin but is an afterthought until desperation time.

    Jonnu Smith replaced Corderelle Patterson as the ineffective "gadget" player. :rolleyes:

    So do you feel that's Jonnu's fault or ASmith for putting him in those ridiculous scenarios?

    Both the pass and run? You think the sacks he is getting or more scheme manufactured?

    A fa ir amount of our issues against the run were directly attributed to him not doing his job. Im not saying he was solely to blame, bu he definitely didnt help our cause. He did improve some as the season wore on. He was doing dumb crap you expect out of rookies, nit 3rd year players.

    Muth and Gainwell are the two best offensive weapons that's who Rodgers should've been throwing to against the Browns.

    Somehow Rodgers needs to get off the MVS as the first read. Even if open I'm not sure I'm throwing to him. Just looks old, slow, tired (MVS).

    In a little bit of defense for Jonnu, who in their right mind thinks throwing to Jonnu at the LOS with Campbell two steps away is a good play that will lead to yards? That is either on A. Smith or Rodgers.

    They are nuts if they don't sign Gainwell to a new deal. It should already be done before he hits the open market.

    Gainwell would be foolish to sign before FA starts

    But I would suspect he will sign shortly thereafter

    I hope they tell him they want him and try to work something out quickly. Remember, he has never been used this much anywhere.

    I guess we really have no idea how the rest of this season is going to go, or if there is any truth to possibly moving on from Tomlin. Maybe that is something that can influence what the team and Gainwell would want to do going forward.

    It's all going to play itself out. Let's hope we have lots of football left.

    The most disappointing player on the season has to be Kaleb Johnson. I thought he was going to press for a carry split this season with a shot to be the RB1 moving forward. He's been so bad that Jonnu Smith is our 3rd RB right now (and we're giving him carries instead of Johnson when it matters if we give any to the RB3). If Johnson doesn't improve in the offseason there's a real chance he doesn't make the 53 next season.

    Yeah, we thought he would've been contributing but we really haven't needed him.

    The problem with Arthur Smith and Jonu Smith is every play is forced to him.

    I have yet to see Jonu get open using his athleticism and get a pass thru progression.

    He might actually be a good TE but you would never know because Arthur treats him like he is kin. Its like a dad designing plays for his kid.

    I'd love to see us re-sign Gainwell too. He could command 4-5 million bucks a year. I don't think anyone would blink at that cost.
    Its a good thing we don't... We would be in trouble if we needed him to contribute.
