Well Cowher rebounded the following season. Still waiting a decade for Tomlin

Cowher had some bad playoff losses for sure but at least he won some playoff games from time to time. Tomlin can’t win anything anymore.

Cowher made AFC Championships with O'Donnell and Stewart. 4 times.

So, if the Steelers win a wildcard game this year then lose in the next round are we supposed to get excited .

Excited? Yes after the WC round win because we’d get another week. In my view if we win in the WC round and play a strong game in a loss in the second round, that would be a solid achievement for this roster.

The probability of any Steelers team in the past 7 years contending for a title has been very low. However, being down 21 points early in first playoff games on a consistent basis is something completely and embarrassingly different from competing against whoever we have to play.

I would love to play more often in the afc title game.....6 in 15 years under Cowher vs 3 in 19 years for Tomlin and only 1 since 2011

Do you recall any Cowher teams ever laying down and being blown out in the 1st quarter of a playoff game, even with the parade of blah QBs he had? It may have happened, but I don’t remember it.

I guess you forgot about the loss to New England in the playoffs when Donahoe said the team looked flat 28-3, Curtis Martin ran through that Steelers defense like a hot knife through butter .

Big mistake by Tomlin early on was completely shutting Deebo out of the plan that season. The prior season, in his last Steeler starts old man Deebo had a 10 tackle 1.5 sack playoff game. TJ had had ONE 10 tackle regular season game in his storied CAREER. Old man Deebo had 10 tackles in ONE PLAYOFF GAME in 2016. TJ does not have 10 tackles in his ENTIRE PLAYOFF CAREER.

Deebo was a MUCH.BETTER PLAYER in the 2016 playoffs than Dupree.

Starters should have been TJ and Deebo during 2017. But Deebo was behind the likes of Chickillo and Moats, not even DRESSING for stretches that season.

Deebo was the best tackling outside linebacker on the Steelers until the day he was released. He ABSOLUTELY could have made a difference in our being abused by the Jags.

Let me add this fun fact to make my point.
TJ has the exact same number of tackles during his playoff CARREER as Deebo has in the playoffs AS A PATRIOT.

Yet we banished him 100 percent for being old and NOT performance.

Old man Deebos last playoff run as a Steeler before being foolishly benched.
    2016 season playoffs 20 tackles 2 wins.

Highsmith and TJ playoff career COMBINED 18 tackles zero wins.

Yeah no, that doesn't count. Injuries to key players only count for other teams.

I like you tend to be pro Tomlin. But come on, scoring 42 and LOSING because we lost a good (not yet great) linebacker? Nah man, there is no excuse for that.

All I ask is how many games would have been different without the turnovers on the Offense???
Honestly. The only game that really bothers me ,because I honestly thought we were a SB team that year was the playoff loss to the Broncos with P. Manning, the year the Broncos won the SB.
People make it seem like all HCs have multiple SBs, and we have the only one that doesn’t.

    I'm not pro anything.
I'm pro truth. Yet for some reason that makes me pro Tomlin.
I don't care if they fire him tonight, but I won't let my feelings over come facts.
I wasn't talking about that game, I was referring to people using other players out of games as excuses, but when we have players out, we just need to somehow coach harder. LoL
Example: I made fun of someone that is always going on about our coaching sucks here, and He was so high on Green Bay being a SB team this year, and I ask what happened, and He said Parsons got hurt, yet He discounts TJ Watt not playing, DK not playing, Washington not play, two of our DBs not playing , and we are on our 3rd LT.
Those aren't excuses for our coaches in his eyes, but somehow Parsons being out is excuses enough for Green Bays coaches. That my friend is called being a Hypocrite.

We lost because roethlisberger spotted them 28 points in the 1st quarter.

If Cowher had Ben his whole tenure here, absolutely he wins more SB’s than popcorn did.

Can you imagine having Ben while having those dominant 90s defenses. You dont have to imagine it, just look at the 2008 team.

Youre assuming that 2008 team would even have existed. You’re also forgetting #7’s play had a lot to do with our losses.

Two points. Ben was the QB on Tomlins
Really? Ben had 2 turnovers and did MORE THAN ENOUGH to overcome that. Still 28 points?

    Does Ben play defense?
