And a GM that was given two drafts too many to cement his legacy and drafted two straight classes of barely useful players.

It's true that Tomlin hasn't had a franchise QB since 2019, but he did have one from 2011 to 2018, and the results were very disappointing with only 3 playoff wins... missing the playoffs in 2018 was inexcusable too.

Being down by at least 21 points in 6 straight playoff games will be a record that will never be broken by a team or a coach... They gave up 30 points or more in 5 straight games and 40 points or more in 3 straight games at one point point...The streak of gave up 30 points or more ended when the Ravens scored 28 points, but they also had 299 rushing yards... Even Tom Brady or Mahomes, those problems would have been hard to overcome for them come playoffs time.

Tomlin is good when expectations are at their lowest and the Steelers look awful for a few games. The Steelers are able to bounce back for a few games before the problems start again. I've watched this movie for too long now... But when They're facing a weak team, they're losing too often... I mean, 0-4-1 in the last 5 games against teams with 8 games under .500?... That's indefensible, and it was a problem even in the Killer B era...

The Steelers almost missed the playoffs in 2015 because of a loss against a completely depleted Ravens team. Tomlin's floor is very high, especially when expectations are low, but when expectations are higher, and the Steelers were very talented, like in the Killer B era, there are too many inexplicable performances.

65 games without scoring over 7 points is terrible too...It was a problem even when Ben was in his prime, especially on the road...It was not a problem under Cowher for Ben,the steelers were a great first quarter team in 2004 and 2005 and after they could play cowherball for the rest of the game to protect the lead

But do you believe Tomlin didn’t have a say in any of those players selected?
    Or
    It was all Colbert?

    That wouldn’t surprise me either
    But
    Odds on favorite
    Would be Flacco
Tomlin has googly eyes for him
    Plus
Flacco would complete the AFC North cycle!

That’s why when these guys say you need a QB they are not necessarily wrong however he had Ben in his prime for how many years? And how many disappointing playoff runs?

The interviews provided at the time made it clear that Colbert’s goal was to pick the next franchise QB and to surround Ben with playmakers for a final run.

Lots of wasted picks as a result of forcing the draft results.

I quit reading after you mention that it was not a coaching failure. It was squarely on Tomlin, OC, and Rodgers

I amazes me that not having a loosing season and not getting into playoffs or even getting wooped so badly in the playoffs is good enough for some. Growing up and watching the 70's steelers this would be a joke.

Yes sir, thought the same thing, wish it was Wilson who would of scored. Was surprised at Sawyer lack of speed there.

Yeah, because LeVeon sitting out the 2018 season didn't screw the team.

Conner was not the problem for that team...They were still a top 5 offense or close to that....Letting Ben on the bench in the second half of the raiders game was a all-time bad moment for Tomlin

Memories are short around here. Conner did well in Bell's absence. Losing to a 3-win Raiders team late in the season will derail playoff hopes quickly. Sounds all too familiar.

And how much better would the team have been with both Conner and Bell . I guess you forgot who lost them the game at Denver Ben threw a bonehead interception in the endzone at the end .

Conner would not play a lot if Bell would been with us.Bell had 300-400 touch per season with us. Tomlin never rotated his running backs at that time; just ask Willie Parker, his career was short because of it. No I did not forget the Denver game and if they would score a TD,it would been just 24-24,not a sure win...The chargers game was also awful in their 3 game losing streak, remember Bostic vs Keenan Allen on the crucial 3rd down?...Awful coaching

A TD at 24-24 is better than throwing an interception to a DL in the endzone , maybe they would've went for two points.

True but they had the chance to bounce back in the next 2 games, but it was ugly.Maybe the worst coaching job by Tomlin in a single season. They were 7-2-1 at one point and they could not make the playoffs
