Austin is also out Sunday, so the Steelers options are Roman Wilson, an injured Skowronek, and a couple of guys they just signed off the street. Nice. ****ing Metcalf.

There is so much wrong with that loser, but why the hell do you bother putting on a suit only to wear a backward baseball cap? What made him think that was the look that was going to get him public sympathy or respect?

Some of you may know this, but there was an old baseball coach and scout named Ralph "Sonny" Westerman. He was very involved in the Freeport community. He was the face of the Freeport International Baseball Invitational. I'm not sure what it is like now, but they would draw American Legion-level teams from all over the country and even some from Japan to play in what was basically a series of wood bat exhibition games. Westesterman was a good guy, but very old school. Tough old bird. Signed up to serve in the Navy at 17. He was a big guy with huge hands who would crush your hand during a handshake if you weren't ready and do it with a big grin on his face. He wouldn't let a player with long hair on "his field." And he would absolutely lose it if he saw a baseball cap worn backward. I heard him go off about why he couldn't stand Ken Griffey, Jr. once because Griffey did it often.

Westerman died in 2017, but what I wouldn't give if he had been there at that press conference to slap some sense into that idiot. (Sorry for the tangent. I still think of Sonny when I see an idiot like that Lions fan.)

I know but white meat of the chicken can dry out easily. So I've never use my Air Fryer for it before.

Washington, on the other hand. Yes please. Whatever they told him on the sidelines before that last offensive series - do that more. He destroyed 3 db's on one play.

And once again - his attitude/behavior - just reinforces who this clown is. Shows up to a press conference with his lawyers, dressed in a suit... and a backwards Lions cap. Ends his statement with "Go Lions."

    Wow. A+ DBag

(But DK is still in the wrong here)

Yes, the league should have done something about the fan sooner.

Yes, I do believe the guy said something horrible to Metcalf.

Yes, I do believe the league was out of line in suspending Metcalf for two games, especially when we have seen other players do the same thing and get no suspension at all.

I will grant all of that, but the fact remains that none of that matters if Metcalf had shown a little self-discipline and stayed away from the guy. His selfish and stupid decision cost this team a playoff berth. It cost them the loss to the Browns, and it will cost them a loss to the Ravens. The Steelers foolishly put their faith in a guy who had gotten himself thrown out of two NFL games for fighting and had been fined numerous other times for his immature, selfish behavior.

Why do those words sound so familiar? Immature. Selfish. Stupid. Those were the reasons the team moved George Pickens. In case you hadn't noticed, Pickens played this week. He will be available to play Week 18, too. Of al the stupid **** Pickens has done, he has never damaged one of his teams as badly as Metcalf by going after that fan.

I have no doubt Tomlin wanted Pickens gone. I do not care if the other players wanted him gone. They can't keep bleeding talent just because Tomlin doesn't want to deal with difficult guys any longer. They were so determined to move on that they traded for a replacement who also hurts his team with stupid, selfish decisions. The smart thing would have been to keep both and put up with the occasional dumbass decision. The Steelers' determination to move PIckens no matter what didn't just cost them a playoff berth. It cost them a very real chance at a deep playoff run in a wide-open AFC.

Let that sink in while the Ravens end the Steelers' season next week.

Cue the folks who can't admit they were wrong.

I couldn't find this posted anywhere here.

On NFL Fox Sunday, Jay Glazer reported this about Metcalf reporting this same fan when he played for the Seahawks in Detroit against the Lions. He has a security report that shows the fan used abusive language and that Metcalf's accusations were corroborated by other fans that heard the conversation. Glazer would not repeat what the fan said, but it seems pretty clear that other fans confirmed that he said what Metcalf accused him of saying when he was with the Seahawks.

The fan is a complete POS.

I don't doubt any of it, but Metcalf's behavior was still selfish, immature, and stupid.

Thats wild. I am not defending DKs actions in any way but if this is indeed true about there being a history then DK is technically in his place of work then he can countersue for harassment in the workplace. ha

I wasn't trying to defend what Metcalf did. The team is paying him over 30 million dollars to play in 17 regular season games. It doesn't matter what that idiot said to him, Metcalf should never have gone over to him or put his hands on him in any way. It was a selfish, immature act that is costing him and his employer a lot. Metcalf cannot and should not have done what he did to that fan without severe punishment that causes harm to the team that pays his immense salary to be available to them and to obey the rules of conduct.

I am simply posting what Glazer is reporting directly from a security report that pretty much takes away any credibility to the fan's story.

Metcalf is still wrong for what he did. He should be held accountable for his actions, and it should bring his decision-making and maturity into question with the team he has compromised at the worst possible time.

Here is another pretty good take on the situation. Despite every other thing that went wrong, it was Metcalf's suspension that likely cost the Steelers a win over the Browns and a playoff spot. It might end Rodgers' career. It might end Tomlin's time with the Steelers. It signals the absolute failure of the team's decision to move on from Pickens.
