What a coaching job by him this year with a depleted roster, especially on defense!

They are now 11-4 and if they win the next 2 game at home vs bears and seahawks, they will be the number 1 seed in the NFC!

One of the best coaching job since a long time in the NFL!

The 49ers are definitely a threat to win it all. What a division the NFC West is! The top 3 teams in the league are all in that division.

If he doesn't win coach of the year then it's a bit of a joke. The guy lost most of his offensive playmakers, including his QB. His defence has been in shambles. Yet they keep winning.

He's a great HC. He needs a SB win to make him even better. Like His Dad.
It's so funny to think that people in Washington bashed him, and His father as coaches. It really shows how mob mentality in fans are stupid. Hell even the talking heads on tv were bashing them.

He is a really good HC. Just like his dad was.

    49ers last 5 wins:
Colts, Titans, Browns, Panthers, Cardinals. They also beat the Giants, and Falcons this second half of the season. They started the season 3-0 against the Seahawks week 1, Saints, and then the First meeting with the Cardinals. And they won the first meeting vs the Rams.

Let's not crown them just yet. Outside of their wins over week 1 Seahawks and week 5 OT win vs the Rams, which win (s) are you impressed most by?

Forgive my sarcasm, but why do the regular season wins for Shanahan mean he's a great coach exactly? I mean, he is a great coach, but those teams I listed lost to just about every coach.

Rams and seahawks are maybe the 2 best team in the NFL this season and the 49ers are 2-1 against those teams.Don't forget the 49ers are depleted especially on defense

In that division, I think what Mike MacDonald has done with the Seahawks is more impressive. I think McVay has turned more to the run game this season so seems less impressive. Those are good teams and good coaches. I just don't feel like they have beaten a large number of quality foes this season.

McDonald and McVay are great too.We will see how it end,but if the 49ers win their final 2 games against the bears and seahawks, they will be in the first seed and if this is the case,my choice for the coach of the year will be Shanahan, since the 49ers had so many injuries. If this is not the case,McDonald would be a strong choice....He is a great defensive mind!

Mcvay is a good HC, but let's hold off ole McDonald. One Year doesn't make You a good coach.

If they beat the Bears and the Seahawks a second time, it will be impressive. So far the 49ers have only the Rams and Seahawks as quality wins this season. Those were in week 5 and 1 respectively. No quality wins since week 5. That is where I disagree they have been impressive with 11 wins.

Yes, hold off. 3 years would be a better measure. I think he is a very good coach. Just look at how far the Ravens defense has fallen off this season. The Seahawks are playing really good defense.

You talk about a team that surprised me this year, it's the Panthers.

It's not a quality win in my opinion. Do you consider the Panthers a quality win by the 49ers? If so, we disagree.

I know people get tired of me saying it, but history has shown its easy to turn a team around, but it's hard to keep them on that track , and it's not like they sucked before he got there. They have only had one losing season since 2012.

For comparison the Steelers have only beat 1 playoff bound team this season
We are 1-4 against playoff bound teams
So yes, considering it a quality win
Do I think Carolina is better than the Steelers?
    Hellz to the noz

Like I said, we just disagree that the Panthers are a quality win for the 49ers. Not sure why you compare them to another team to make your point. Even if the Panthers are considered a quality win, that's 3 of 11. Still not impressive.
