Sanders could very well end up being a legit NFL QB. I wouldn't write him off just yet. Sanders is still very raw... but he could be as good as Stroud for Texans if he gets the right weapons around him.

Cowherd has hated on Rodgers since the Darkness Retreat incident after Packers and during his Jets tenure. So?

Trading TJ Watt for picks this past year would not have been a terrible idea in hindsight. I'm glad Watt is staying here.... but I think his elite days are over.

 

What triggered this Andy Reid tirade? Reid could have won a Super Bowl with Donovan McNabb, like Cowher did with Neil O'Donnell. Both QBs committed boneheaded plays at the worst times.... but it wasn't Reid's or Cowher's fault.

 

He said trading Watt, and some picks to move up , and take Sanders the 1st pick.
Even if Sanders does eventually turn out good, why the f**k trade Watt, and some picks to move up to the 1st pick for a guy YOU could get in the 5th round???
Just shows how stupid He is. Yet even saying something that dumb, he thinks he knows more than teams owners, gms, and HCs. He's a talking head that really knows nothing, and to believe he does is foolish.

 

Andy Reid had almost the same record with Alex Smith from 2013 to 2017(53-27) that the steelers had in the killer B's era(I will remove the 2013 season to be fair,so 2014 to 2018)54-25-1

And Reid deserve some credit for the draft pick of Mahomes in 2017.He has always been great with the QB in his career and the QBs he had in Philly(not just McNabb)had some struggle when they leave in Philly after to have some good moment in Philly(he was able to trade A.J Feeley for a second round draft pick because he had some very good game under Reid in 2002!).An aging Jeff Garcia also revived the end of his career with the Eagles under Reid

Tomlin thought it was a good idea to draft Pickett in the first round back in 2022!

Fair enough. Cowherd is not GM material... not many people are. It's probably easier to be a head coach, than general manager.

But he is right about the current trend in the NFL.. and head coaches being from offensive backgrounds excel more often than ones with background in defense... SINCE Belichick won his last SB. Reid, Arians, McVey, Siriani.

And he's mostly right about QBs. They need to be tall, powerful arm and durable....prototype like: Allen, Herbert, Mahomes, etc. Bryce Young is the only QB bucking this trend as of late. Kyler Murray has sucked for AZ. So has Tua T for Dolphins.

 

Alex Smith won before Andy Reid. Hell Alex Smith was detrimental to 49ers getting to the SB. Without Patrick Mahomes. No SB wins. You know it, I know its.
If You are really a genius, Your team doesn't get beat by Tennessee as soon as Patrick Mahomes isn't playing.

Reid had Mahomes(best Qb in the league. , Arians had Brady(who already won multiple SBs with a Defensive HC), and McVay had Matthew Stafford , so not a big reveal here.
So the only one that actually fits into this is....Siriani.

The game against the Titans was irrelevant.The Chiefs have been eliminated from the playoffs since the loss to the Chargers.

The Chiefs have only played two full games without Mahomes since 2018, which had some significance in their standings. That was in 2019 when they lost a close game against the 13-3 Packers and won the next game against the Vikings, who were 10-6... both with Matt Moore.

Alex Smith didn't play in the playoffs in 2012; it was Kaepernick, and he was incredible. I consider Jim Harbaugh a great coach too.

 

Stafford led the league in interceptions in 2021, and Mahomes had a down year in 2023 and 2024, even though they went to the Super Bowl twice and won one.

 

Alex Smith got them to the playoffs. You know this.
Simply put. Andy Reid never won a SB without Pat Mahomes . Never.
If You are a genius offense guy, it shouldn't take the best Qb in the league to win SBs with. Only two guys fit this bill in the NFL Siriani, and Kyle Shanahan. They don't have to have super awesome Qbs to win.

 

Siriani is a good head coach but better that Reid? ....Reid is the OC for his team in his entire career and Siriani need a good OC.Like without a good OC,his offense struggle like this year

Mahomes was also not that special in 2023 and 2024.He was clutch but Lamar,Allen was better in both of those years in the stats.Reid also won over 60% of the time without Mahomes in his career and this is in a 18 years period.Many good head coach have never won a super bowl too and Reid won 3,including in 2023 when Mahomes was not close among the top in stats...I take Don Coryell over a one hit wonder like Doug Peterson as head coach this is for sure

And imagine Reid as head coach in the killer B's era

Btw the biggest difference in the last few years between the Bills and the chiefs are not Mahomes vs Allen,since Allen has been the best QB in stats during this decade in the playoffs but this is the coaching staff.Andy Reid own his former DC in Philly,who is the HC of the bills like crazy

Siriani has won with a Qb that fat Andy would be lucky to have a 500 season with. Not only that, he has taken his team to two SBs with him, and has never had a losing season.
Not only will Andy Reid have a losing season, but he has had many before. That is not a sign of a genius. He's a great HC, but Patrick Mahomes has made him look way better than he is.

 

QB is not the only position who matter.....QB is of course very important but not the only thing
