Lots of us were wrong about Gainwell. I admitted that one a while ago.

With Metcalf and Austin both probably out, I wonder if he can move to wide receiver.

Everyone be thankful they didn’t make the blunder of signing Najee to the 5th year

We might need him at Wideout the next 2 weeks with the suspension. Hopefully the 2 3rd round picks that haven’t done ****, can step up.

He doesn't need to play WR he runs good routes out of the backfield, he might get even more targets now.

your right Steelersrule, not line up a WR but utilize him with creative patterns from where ever. I’ve heard Gainwell and Rodgers have a good mojo and trust hopefully we will see more.

I don't think he's the answer just activate Wilson.

Same here - he was one of the FA acquisitions I was least excited about.

But he’s been one of, if not the best (next to Rodgers)

It was such a good catch, and a heady play to know he wasn't touched and could just stand up and run in for the score.

Gainwell has been such an amazing addition to the backfield. Him and Warren are an excellent duo, and I would really love to lock them in as our tandem for the next 2-3 years. Its crazy to think for as much as the decision to let Najee walk was criticized, both backs have more total TD's than Najee did last year. Both backs have at least a half yard more per carry (Gainwell almost a full yard) and both backs have more receptions (Warren has a decent shot at having more total yards than Najee last year too.). Really both backs have done a quite nice job on the season. We're very lucky to have them, and the team really made a good call on the RB room.

He could do it if asked, he should have at minimum 10 targets.

Warren is 19th in scrimmage yards (rushing/receiving combined) among RB's. Every player in front of him has more games played, and he's the only guy at his level or above that has done it without a single fumble on the year. If he had the same usage as Harris (in terms of attempts, and did so at the same production), he'd be 27 yards short of his first 1,000 yard season and that isn't even counting the game he missed or the half he essentially didn't play because of a minor ankle injury against the Bengals that the team was just cautious on... If we gave him a couple more touches a game, he'd easily be a top 15 all around back in the league (and that's about what I think he is as a player, low end of the top 15). He's very clearly an above average starting RB, and the fact that we got someone like him from a UDFA is great.

Gainwell has really become a threat too (in different ways). He's an excellent receiver and is quite quick and slippery as a runner. He's much more lean, so we could never feature him as a lead back, but he's well worth the 11 or so touches a game he gets. He's got great hands, is a threat in space, and can create all kinds of mismatches in different ways that Warren does.

We have an incredibly well rounded backfield. Both players are electric in space, Warren will get more run in the running game being more stout and being excellent at breaking tackles and making guys miss. Gainwell is slippery enough to get some carries, but he excels in the passing game. Both players can be on the field at the same time and present a match up nightmare. There is absolutely zero reason to not keep this tandem of guys together for the next 2-3 years. Its a great group.

That catch was so awesome because of the presence of mind. It takes a lot of concentration to make that whole play work with everything that happened.
