I.ight by it if he and .Metcalf didnt have a past.. But since this is the 2nd altercation I dont believe the fan he just looking for a payday

 

NFL got it right here.


Two schools of thought can be true.


1.) Whomever this fan is clearly rage baited him and resorted to being a POS while doing so.


2.) He is protected under the USA's Constitutional Laws.


D.K.'s retaliation was disproportionate to what the fan said. Let this be a lesson to him.



Remember everyone, punishment isn't just about punishing the offender. It is about deterring others from performing the same actions.

 

How does this work? He'll be out for Browns and Ravens???? Does an appeal mean he can play until it's settled??? If so, I hope the Players Union drags it's feet.

 

For now, D.K. is suspended for two games. He can appeal it but until the NFL reaches a final verdict, he is prohibited from playing.

 

Instead of raw talent the Steelers might want to look what is inside the head of the Wide Receivers we draft.

 

At least he'll be well rested for the playoffs.

 

That just broke my heart. I thought the Steelers might be on to something. We need his talent. Austin and Wilson don't inspire confidence. Maybe Thielen can help? Feeling a little bad for Rodgers.

 

Perhaps this is the break Roman Wilson needs. If not, Allen Lazard is still out there. Could sign him if needed. MVS and Adam Thielen though are still on the roster so I suppose that, in a sense, Pittsburgh does have their bases covered somewhat.


Regardless, I understand how you feel. I feel the same way. However, if the NFL were to let this slide, this would essentially open up "Pandora's Box" as far as Player/Fan Interactions go. I don't think that Modern Sports Fans would want to see an encore presentation of "Malice At the Palace" again; much less the NFL given its PR issues of the past.

 

Will he be available then?? I wish he'd give up the appeal and sit out next two games. Hopefully Packers help us and last 2 games won't matter.

And knowing what a team player and caring individual Metcalf is he'll take the 2 games now so he can help team in Playoffs

 

I think we can beat the Browns without him, Ravens maybe not so much.

 

He is ineligible to play immediately so his appeal doesn't delay the punishment. He isn't eligible to play while they decide his appeal.

 

Metcalf suspended 2 games. I just saw it on Apple News.

 

Appeals like this usually happen quickly. I can easily see this reduced to one game.

No, the league did not get it right after giving Lamar Jackson nothing for shoving a fan. It is ridiculous for the league to do that given the playoff implications. Suspend him for one and fine him another game check rather than try to hand the division to the Ravens.

 

Gotta make the playoffs first

 

This is where having no other starting quality receivers is a killer. The Steelers blew that and Metcalf was out of line, but wrap games is inexcusable.
