Really happy to be wrong tonight.

As always, we made it a heart attack at the end.

But it's a great win. Nice to see some great run blocking and Warren finding the hole. Gainwell again shows that he's maybe the best cap value in the league (outside of rookie deals).

What a rollercoaster of a game. Like two entirely different halves.

    LET'S GO PATS!!!

The Fire Tomlin chants were a wake up call apparently. They were deserved… but ever since then the team has had a different fire in them. We looked dead set to walk into Baltimore and get beat en route to a 3 game losing streak… instead, this will be the first season since 2017 without a 3 game losing streak.

We beat a Ravens team on the road in a must win, destroyed a hot Miami team on prime time, and now took a game in Detroit against a Lions team that pretty much had to win out. We’re a win in Cleveland away from making a big time turn around and sealing the division for the first time in too long.

I know we can clinch it with a Baltimore loss on Saturday. If that happens, we need to treat the Cleveland game like a real game for a half or more (don’t want to lose our momentum resting guys too long) and then maybe a drive in the finale. Howard can take the game from there and we can rest our vets hard. If Baltimore wins, then just beat the pants off Cleveland and treat the finale like a preseason game. Rest vets and let the depth get some time. I know you can’t rest everyone, but putting a heavy back up and young guy team out there would be best.

Someone mentioned in the game thread the Lions started moving the ball because they adjusted their O.
We didn't adjust to what they were doing, kept running the same D.You're telling me we don't have staff that can see, blind as a bat

What adjustment would anyone have liked to make? Take JPJ off of Amon Ra St. Brown and have him lock up Raymond? Have Samuel (who struggled at points last night) cover St. Brown? Maybe single up Chuck Clark (the 3rd string safety) on a WR?

The Steelers focused on taking away Gibbs and St. Brown. They did that to a degree that almost no other team has to Detroit in recent seasons. This was essentially a Belichick style defensive game-plan. We will take away your biggest two weapons and hope you don't beat us with your lesser skill players.

Also...the final Detroit TD that counted was only possible because a Steelers OLB that was playing days after getting signed got isolated and exposed in coverage by the Lions. There's not a lot that can be done about that.

Nah, defense was gassed. Consequence of an old team.

Tomlin is 8-6 in worst division in football. He has been lucky to win at least three games where a 50/50 referee decision went for him. I need to see a playoff win.

Stains game is huge. Its the type of game we drop under Tomlin. It does feel like A ARon is on a mission and we will win out but I would prefer a convincing win vs the Stains.

I imagine they’d have to lose 100-0 in the Wild Card game for it to even be a remote possibility.

Or choke and miss the playoffs.

At this point and time though, have to give Tomlin credit, has the team playing good football and doing the opposite of what they have been doing in recent years, finishing strong instead of collapsing.

Knock on wood, no jinx, still 2 games to be played.

Maybe the fans did their job with the "Fire Tomlin" chants. The proof in the pudding will be the playoffs. This team has a bunch of new guys, Rodgers, Ramsey, Metcalf, Gainwell, Harmon, Duggar, Echols, Sawyer, etc., that maybe it is enough to change results. Rodgers is 7-4 in the first playoff game, but 1-6 in the 2nd and 3rd games, since SB XLV.

Aaron Rodgers and Cam Heyward must be fools to support Mike Tomlin. Don’t they know what the fans know? Certainly the people on this website know more about football than AR and Cam!

That some of you think Tomlin changed his coaching because of the fans wanting him fired so beyond ridiculous. But keep trying to be the “reason” the Steelers won while sitting on your couch eating nachos and screaming about how dumb the coaches and players are. Get over yourselves.

I was left quite impressed with the Steelers win, after I stopped hyperventilating.
Sports show agreed last play was OPI
They disagreed with the play before on the pick?!
Never mentioned the pick called on Mt Washington that took away a td for the Steelers!
    :hmm:

If the Steelers get blown out at home in 1rd of playoffs, you can bank on the fire Tomlin chants

Remarkably, Heyward can still bring it. Ref. vs Detroit. Some guys are just built different.
