Does anyone on here believe we will keep up this good playing without Metcalf???

I don't and without him we won't have a chance in hell if we make Playoffs.

 

Apparently, Metcalf never learned the childhood lesson "sticks and stones......"

 

It's always easier said then done, especially when you're playing a game all jacked up on adrenaline.

Getting better looks at it though and it doesn't look like he actually made contact or threw an actual punch.

Funny, OP has a poll up top and no one responded to it but many responded to thread.

 

Only think he slapped was the silly string hanging off that head cover.

My hopes are soaring at the moment but we lose Metcalf we be in trouble.

 

The way things are going this year DK might not get suspended. I think the NFL wants Rodgers in the playoffs.

But even if what Ocho says is true, DK needs to be smarter than this. Its not like it was after a celebration or TD so why even go over to the fan? I’m sure they hear this stuff at every away game too. Fans are brutal.. and some will go to the depths of hell to get a reaction.

I think the term of art here is whether what he said was "fighting words".

But that only matters legally.

The NFL doesn't care about the law re: discipline. It cares about "tarnishing the shield".

And I think it's going to be very hard on a player who started a physical part of an altercation. Especially if there's no proof of what was or wasn't said.

 

Agree doesn't seem to make contact. I think even in the "interview" the fan had he doesn't say he was hit. Says something like DK ripped his shirt.

Closed fist =/= a slap.

 

My guess is that it will be like the Garrett thing. No proof.

He will get fined $100K or more and suspended for a game.
Might also get a lawsuit from the fan too, I'm sure, an attorney would love to run with this one.

Too bad he couldn't at least get closer. Then there might be an "impartial" person who could talk about what was said.

Which is why I said that even if he was called a racial slur, it likely won't affect the punishment the league hands him.

 

We all know how hindsight works but if he really had been called the n-word and his mom the C word, he could have walked right over to one of the security guards and probably raised enough of a stink to get that guy thrown out of the stadium. I guess my wife had read somewhere that the fan was so drunk that he was eventually escorted out of the stadium. Not sure I believe that at all so take that with a grain of salt.
