Point of fact but AR is no TB and will not take a team to the show at his age IMO.

1974 Navy A school. Teacher kept yelling at us "Point of Fact". He said it after every damn thing he said.

Probably not. Ohio State QBs are not known to be successful as franchise QBs in the NFL.

That depemds on Cook's play. Jones is an often injured and so-so when healthy. You can't have a QB over 40 and a shaky left tackle.

I'd like to see AR back for one more year.

Ryan Day can make a qb appear be much better than he is on paper. OSU's current QB looks like a top 5 pick when he comes out. I think he is the real deal.

And I think Day is the next great college head coach.

If Rogers wants to play, I'd sign him for another year. You want a good QB at the most important position and there are limited options after him at this moment.

The dude seems prime on retiring after this year though. I don't think he wants to play another year.

I'd of course draft another QB next year.

    It's a pretty important position

Depends on price and other options. But I think my answer is yes.

But he seems to enjoy it here and players (except maybe J Smith) seem to get along with him.

It seems like the QB class this year isn't all it was cracked up to be. And we're going to pick fairly late anyway. So it doesn't look like we'll get a rookie who's an early starter. Having them on the team apprenticing for a year under one of the all time greats is probably not terrible.

He's played with a young QB before in GB and while it may not have been ideal, it was also not bad.

Huh? Justin Fields and Dwayne Haskins (RIP)... didn't fit the bill as franchise QBs. Stroud is good.

Cam Heyward on Rodgers.... brings something that was sorely missing from the QB position for the last half decade:

"There's a level of accountability he brings to the group," Heyward said. "The way he challenges guys, the way he communicates. There's a lot of stuff you see during practice but then off the field, he's working with guys. It's not just the offensive line, the wide receivers the tight ends. They all play a big role in what he wants to do and he just keeps talking about it."

The "Get Up" panel said yesterday that they expect Mack Jones to be headed to Pittsburgh next season as the starter.

What was the reason teams passed on Tom Brady?
    Kurt Warner?
    Brock Purdy?
    Rich Gannon?
    Warren Moon?
    Johnny Unitas?

Teams just don't know how to predict what QBs are going to be successful in the NLF. And then you have the Steelers who draft Kenny Pickett in the 1st.

The odds are not good for a 6th rnd pick to become a viable starter.

They're surprisingly low for a first round pick to become a franchise QB too

IMO, there is no surefire way at predicting who will become a good Qb. I've seen them come in every round, and I've seen them fail in every round, and on every team.
Some people just like to believe they know, but if they did, there wouldn't be so freaking many misses at picking them.

Add Joe Montana. I think he went in 4th. Purdy goes to frigging NFCCG first year. Vegas took a hit on that spot. I think they were a 3 point underdog in Philly. So many friends bet the Eagles and got to do it again when the Skins made NFCCG and they won a ton of $$$$$. Starting Rookie QB's do not go to SB. Eagles stopped rookie QB's twice recently. Pats stopped Ben.

Rodgers comes back we'd probably be 9-10 wins. Maybe make Playoffs but no way in hell we will be a SB contender. Now we have to wait another season in hopes of getting a permanent QB. We get lucky and find one in 2027 draft we have to wait for his development. We are 4-5 years away, at least, from being mentioned in SB talk.

you should agree that the later the rnd the less chance if them becoming a viable or solid starter. Im sure theres a study on the success rate of Qb’s taken in every rnd. And i would assume that rate drops pretty quickly as you get into the later rnds.

Probably. I'm just saying that there is no surefire way to predict it.

I think drive and work ethic play one of the main factors in who becomes a successful NFL Qb and who doesnt. Most of these Qb’s are physically gifted. Its just whos going to spend extra time after practice on the field or in the film room? Peyton Manning and Brady were notorious hard workers.

Of the 14 teams currently leading for a playoff berth, 12 are first round picks. Hurts drafted in round 2 and Purdy round 7 are the exceptions.
