Wow, I've seen a lot of snaps where he's left alone with the RT and no issues handling him. He's a step slower this year for whatever reason. He was a step slower the last few games of 2024 too, was obvious. He rarely disrupting anything.

As for the times they do chip or double, well, its not like the rest of the defense is all awesome and stuff, so rather than have your R.B. getting bored, have him chip and be the safety valve. News Flash, ALL teams do that, evne to craptacular DEs and OLBs.

One more point, for the times he is being chipped or doubled, used to be he found a way to make a play, he can't get off a single block in time to get in on any play. He's just another DE/OLB now, no hint or whisper of pro-bowl or all-pro from here forward and we're paying him like he's first team all-pro...sad.

All these voodoo treatments that ALWAYS do more harm than good. The only postivie is the placebo effect. Not buying any of this garbage. It's a way for an exploiter, a con-man, a Grigori Rasputin knucklehead to make money off the gullible. Getting dry needling should be cause for cancelling a contract for being too stupid to live up to it. Watt must be suffering from CTE and showing the mental capacity of a geriatic.

I'd imagine that the person that committed the error was a UPMC Physical Therapist attached to the UPMC facility on the South Side that they train at. There's a trillion things worth bashing Tomlin for; this isn't one of them.

He’s getting handled with a single team plenty of times, unfortunately. Look at Lawrence Taylor started declining at 30, its not surprising whats happening to TJ at 31. Its strange the steelers gave him that contract, did they think he'd have a resurgence? If they did its bad foolhardy judgement on their part.

You and I imagine completely different things. If they do just let some rando PT from UPMC stick needles in players that can reach lungs, then that's a problem in itself. I imagine that this was a person on staff.

It’s a pattern though. Usually cheap leadership. Rooney’s are notoriously cheap. Cheap owners usually always have lackluster amenities. The field is always a disaster. Their resources suck. Their Team grade was a D.

That dip**** Artie Moreno in Anaheim is still dealing with some dumb **** he hired that ended up giving Tyler Skaggs dope and he died in a crash. He is notoriously cheap.

Rooney’s are nice and decent people but their time running a billion dollar business has passed. It’s mediocre ownership and it’s not a surprise their football team is as well.

I hate to agree with you but IMO you are 100% correct. I think the Steelers made the wrong move giving him that money, even before this injury, and it is now going to bite us in the ass.

BUT, TJ Watt is a Pittsburgh sport hero. I think all will agree with this, he kept the .500 record alive. Steelers would have never won some of those games after Ben retired if TJ Watt was not a Steeler.

UPMC has the contracts to work at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex to provide the sports medicine care. So whilst they're members of the staff at the Complex, they still work for UPMC. Why hire independent PTs when you can hire them through UPMC via existing staffing contracts?

the physical therapist i know is a Dr. of physical therapy. he uses those dry needles. he went to school a year longer than a medical doctor. he's a pretty smart cookie about the body and rehab and procedures. i don't know who did TJ's but this is more of a freak accident than anything. maybe they were showing a student PT. who knows. i will say there is a difference in physical therapists just like there are differences in doctors. some graduate with A's and B's and some graduate with B's and C's. which one do you prefer working on you? :smiley1::cool:

First and foremost, TJ could've gone to an actual acupuncturist instead of using the cheap imitation.....

Second, is the fact that I've been saying since the tail end of last season that Watt didn't look right... when he rushes, he looks like he's protecting something.... these treatments are conformation of that, as if he's trying to avoid necessary surgery

well i disagree about the cheap imitation b&g, more so the other way around. i don't disagree about the injury and him not looking right. this is his 9th year in the league though. that is a lot of wear and tear on a body. these guys are human. it takes it's toll. i believe the average length of an nfl player is 4 years or less. it took it's toll on JJ as well when he got his last big contract. not the same player. got paid anyway. i didn't have a problem if they were going to trade him this year but they paid him and i hope he gets back. he's still a good player. father time always wins.

Per this guy more likely air got into chest cavity which partially collapsed the lung. So you have to get air out to allow the lung to recover and potentially other surgical interventions to stabilize. Not intuitive to me but he said more likely when needling the trap muscle

For all you people that think the Steelers would jeopardize
their players with below caliber medical personnel you are flat out
wrong. The Steeler players have the best medical personnel attainable
In the city of Pittsburgh. UPMC is a World Class Medical Center that people
All over the world come to be cared for.

And yet You can't help responding to anything I write. LoL . I'm sorry if You think it's silly that I point out that some fans think a player is done that is receiving the most attention from the opposition ,than any player in the league on Defense. I find it silly that fans think they know more than not only a few teams OCs, and HCs, but every single team we face Ocs, and HCs.

Again for the slower readers, and the people that don't actually watch the games.
TJ Watt gets singled, and Chipped, Doubled, and Doubled, and Chipped more than any D player in the league. I've been saying that for the last 3 years, but I'm not the only person saying that. Cris Collinsworth(you know the guy behind PFF that some of you think is the Bible)said it on one of our games this year, and He even showed the stat, and it's not close. Now ask yourself why every team we face does this to a guy YOU think is done. LoL. Also of freaking course he is singled sometimes. Even saying this shows a lack of understanding of how football is played. Not every play is a pass play, and not every play is going his way, and some are designed to let him come, and go past him.
I guarantee every OC, and HC that we face doesn't do this because they think it's a fun thing to do during a game.

Is there a Pittsburgh area sports radio that spits out these talking points?

    TJ Watt is washed
    Tomlin is a bad coach
Will Howard is a good QB
    JPJ Jr can’t cover
    Turnovers are fake defense.

Not sure what is going on this thread, but out of the loop. Hope all is good with Watt. That sucks now I need to catch up to what the hell dry needling is as I plan to avoid that.
