Okay, you didn't see it, but I did. I thought he was less effective everywhere compared to 2011. You know I'm not a numbers guy, but you do realize that saying "led all DEs on the team" about anything just means he had more than Ziggy Hood, right? You can't compare him to Heyward or anyone else who barely saw the field. And I'm not saying Hood is setting the world on fire, but he's a lot cheaper than Keisel, and will continue to be cheaper even in a 2nd contract. And his play is getting better, not worse. And even if you don't think Keisel's play slipped last season, you know it's going to soon.

hood had his best season and keisel still outplayed him. that just doesn't seem like a decline to me when he's putting up the same numbers he always did, even with an over the hill casey playing in the middle.

keisels been at every OTA and practice and works after practice. remember his first 4-5 years he didn't play much and doesn't have all that wear and tear on him. he's got an easy two or three years left at a high level.

i know everyone wants to see what cam can do, but he needs to show it and beat someone out. woods has played and worked his butt off and it looks like he's outworked some guys to get a bigger role.

i'd love to see somewhat of a better rotation but they haven't shown it yet. keisel is not expensive as a starting DE. he is also the leader of that D-line. once mclendon starts playing NT, they all will start to look better.

I think its less about Keisels' play and more about the potential of Heyward.

I think Heyward could be really good, make not as good as Smith, but maybe on the KVO category....How do you leave a guy like that on the bench especially when he is a first rounder, and it doesn't seem they are willing to match him up against Hood for playing time???

Diesel, is still a beast to be reckoned with on the field. It would be foolhardy to let him go at this stage and the Steelers won't do it.

It was the same for Big Snack for a few years.

They may not be what they were, but comparatively they're still amongst best at what they do.

Really don't understand all the Golden love.

00:35 gives up a TD to Witten
    1:15 whiffs on a tackle on D Harris on 2nd and 23
(next play) gives up the first down to Beasley (led to a TD pass over K Lewis)
3:00 Bites on the fake, lets dwayne harris take it down to the 1 yard line.

Directly involved in giving up 3/3 Cowboys TD's in a game we NEEDED.

Granted, there were other factors at play, and this is just one game, but when I watched these highlights as part of the "NFL Network's top games of 2012" I couldn't help notice #21 constantly trailing the play..

Out here in the desert, UofA land, we thought he was pretty good and hoped he would make the team in Pitt.

I believe they talk about that game in the article I originally posted, and list other reasons why they have high hopes for him.

Speaking of PITT I hope the Steelers draft their safety Hendrick dude is a ball hawk.

the kid still was dressing in a cardboard box over by the trash can, before that. he was the 5th safety on the depth chart, he didn't get alot of reps prior to playing.

i'm going with carnell, he's given no reason to doubt his coaching of these young guys. besides the kid was pretty good in college at two positions. position flexability comes to mind.

    Hey Wing,
Couple of buds out here noticed that we grabbed Golden. General consensus, good potential.

    GO CATS!!!

Ryan Clark has never been that good in coverage he doesn't have the speed to cover why would the Steelers give a 34 year old safety a contract extension they need to get younger at that position.

Boy, with a free safety that has never been good in coverage, we sure have lucked out a whole bunch the last 7 years.

Ryan Clark doesn't usually play man to man coverage on someone.... He either plays zone or plays deep centerfield.

Yeah, but that's still called coverage. Steelersrule6 was claiming that Clark isn't good in any kind of coverage. If he was just talking about man-to-man, then I don't know why he'd care, since it almost never happens.
