I guess Woodley didn't take Shaw up on his offer either.

I really think DVD is going to be the Steelers breakout player this year.

Woodley doesn't have the rocks to go down and really train
the way Ike does. And you wonder why IKE has lasted as long as he has and has been
as injury free for the most part as he has. There is a reason for this, HARD WORK
keeping your body in shape. Anyone listening Lamarr, OL, Troy?

From the pictures I've seen and from what I read Woodley seems to be in pretty good condition this year. Some times it takes a down year to wake a player up especially when he has been dominate since coming into the league. I'm writing last season off for wood. I was really pissed but hey he made a mistake.

He can train with Mickey Mouse for all I care as long as he is really in peak shape. I have not heard anything about his training, so I hope you are right.

I can remember what article it was in but there was a little snip it about wood in it and in the pictures from mini camp you don't see the gut you seen last year. The more I think about it the more I think the Steelers are going to have a really good year this year. We have had the oline working out together and most of the dbs though I wish troy would finally take ike up on his offer.

woodley said himself that it wasen't because he was out of shape. De Nile isn't just a river in egypt.

woodley got bigger no matter what he thinks. in those pictures , he still by far alot bigger all over then any other LB we have. in year 3 i believe, he put weight on thinking it would help him, but it didn't. he even said maybe he put on too much, i don't think he's taken it off. he could drop 20lbs. and it wouldn't hurt him at all. in fact i think we would see the lamar of old.

the speed of our defense needed to get better, they have in some spots.

Oh I don't doubt you and I'm glad to hear it, I just haven't seen it, I scour Steeler stuff everyday but don't have any prescriptions to like PG+ so maybe there have been some in those type of sites. He seemed pretty defiant when he was called out on it, like he didn't need too so I'm glad if he really is putting in the work.

:this!:Ike has been a warrior with his training. Would also like to see Woodley do the same. Glad the team stepped up the off season training some. It shows already in lesser injuries so far.

He cleverly said the weight didn't have anything to do with a high ankle sprain. Which may well be true. But that happened week 12. He was still having a down year, but I don't expect him to come out and prosecute himself. Results speak for themselves, if he shows up in better shape and has a better year, we will all know the weight and poor fitness hurt him.

i agree about that, but there will be alot of other factors coming to play too. ziggy's play. mclendons play. worilds play on the other side. all these things wil be factors. he should get sacks as should the others. mclendon should help each side on passing downs. he's going to be the it factor.

Will Mclendon lock down the middle and not allow anyone to run up the gut? This is where Hampton was truly at his best, save for when he got pissed and went after the QB

If he can't we are screwed. The lack of depth here is huge concern for 2013(and beyond).

I am banking heavily on Mclendon, he could very well be the factor that we
are missing. I hope they turn him loose.

I think the beast is going to cause a lot of problems for offenses especially qbs. How many NT have you seen go one on one with Vick and get him.

i'm sure wondering about arnfelt. will they play him at DE or NT. the kid is quick and strong. a little light maybe for the middle but hoke wasen't a giant either. we have alot of guys vying for that BU spot strummer, it should be a pretty good competition. who's hungrier? should be fun to watch.

Competition is great, but none of them have any experience. IF they're all nothing more than a bunch of scrubs than being the best of the bunch isn't worth a hill of beans. If McClendon doesn't pan out or he gets injured our defensive line will more than likely be a major liability.
