That is surprising I figured you would have been one of the 1st here to see it.

I think I may check out the 2002 HBO Doc of the same name.
The Smashing Machine: The Life and Times of Extreme Fighter Mark Kerr

OK, now I understand. The 2025 movie is just a complete ripoff of the real 2002 Documentary with Mark Kerr. It is crazy, Line for Line, scene by scene almost exactly the same. The Roc is just running the same lines as Mark Kerr did in the Documentary. This is why there is no movie magic with flashbacks going back in time to give further details. Is the 2025 movie supposed to be a fake documentary?

There is a little more behind the scenes History and a lot more PRIDE footage in the 2002 Documentary, and the movie does have a few scenes from Mark's life that are exploited for shock value.

Those real PRIDE fights in the documentary were just brutal. I think they might have toned it down in the 2025 movie. Funny, the one thing that Roc's movie totally got right was Mark Kerr's trainer Bas Rutten, who was played by Bas Rutten himself 25 years later. :)

I am very impressed with the 2002 Doc, as Mark Kerr really allowed the cameras to show all the good and bad parts of his life.

I love stuff like that. Had to steal a family's member password to watch it.

Oldie but goodie, Catch-22. Have not watched it in years. Found it on by chance. Pretty big movie and book when it came out. Great black comedy set during WW2.

No, its supposed to be a drama. I would bet large sums of money had they taken more liberties with the film some(including you) would complain its not real.

Don't just give us titles. You don't have to do a report on it, but give us something. LoL.

I have just never seen a Documentary remade with actors before. Maybe this is more common than I think.

Is it ok to list older movies recently watched? I tend to dislike most new movies today because they have to force liberal nonsense in them.

I recently watched Trading Places and the 1960 version of H.G. Wells Time Machine

No rules in this thread/forum. Anything goes. Both were very good flicks. I don't have TCM on any of my streaming apps. I really miss the Saturday Night Crime Film Noir featured B&W movies from the 40's/50's and all the trivia presented by the hosts. Svengali on MeTV was always fun as well with the classic horror/sc-fi movies but don't have this either. I kind of miss the plain cable non-streaming days at times, except of course don't miss all the stupid ads.

For me Frankenstein was very similar to Oppenheimer. I am so glad I did not see it in the theater.

At home I was able to finish it in about a week. Very slow moving, I was never excited to see what comes next. I only finished it to see if it ever got better, because the reviews kept telling me it was a great movie. I was able to last about 20 - 30 minutes each sitting.

Count me down as a person that has seen the FULL movie and will never watch it again.

Do you have Roku? I found some free channels showcasing movies from the 40s to 70s. There is a way to get around the ads ; )

I forwarded it to scenes with Frankenstein. I was done in about 30 minutes. Haha. I did enjoy how Frankenstein displayed his great strength and violence.

There are a channels titled TV & Movie Classics, Sci-Fi Classics and Classic Comedy Channel. They are all created by the same person. It has ads, but using the back arrow to go to the previous screen and then hit resume gets rid of the ads. It is about a 5-second interruption. They have an assortment of movies from the 30's thru 60's. Choose watch for free when entering the channel. You can pay for no ads, but that is pointless since there is a work-around.
