I would like to point out that he is correct. The chants do not dictate who he is. However the chants are in response to who he is.

He is there to please the crowd whether he wants to admit or not. Without that crowd, there's no money. Without that money, there's no job.

He is there to lead. Unfortunately he's not.

They have been showing us what they are made of all season long and it is not impressive.
