Well, I don't think the coaches or the scheme called for Watt to go tackle the man without the ball in the playoff game. That regular season loss turned when Russell fumbled near the goal line then he threw a pick 6.

Mathematically, you are correct. I'm just looking at it more from the standpoint of how well we're playing. If we're not good enough to beat the Ravens twice, I don't think we're good enough to make the playoffs.

The Ravens haven't been playing great either they benefitted from being in the easy part of their schedule and playing against some crappy QBs like in the Browns game.

Just hope they can beat Miami on MNF to take a game lead for All Time wins, keeping ahead of 49ers.

Coach can’t destroy every Steelers record can he?

At best we split with Ravens. Is that good enough given the rest of the schedule?

They expressly did. They were coached to tackle Henry and make Lamar beat them with the runs to the outside. That was talked about post game....

We're on year 3 of locker room issues from Najee saying that we weren't prepared, to Queen and Elliott saying that guys weren't bought in and not doing their job, to now Queen and Echols saying scheme and coaches (as well as themselves) need to do better... Its falling apart schematically. We're losing the team and its quite sad.

He’s 3rd in the league with 5 batted balls. Interestingly PFF ranks Cam as the #1 interior defensive lineman in the entire league under their grading system. Right now, #1 in 2025. I think that’s a bit silly, but he’s not terrible by any means. He’s made a lot of good plays, been held a LOT without it being called, and has been double teamed a LOT in the run game and generally held up his end when that’s happened. He’s not the super DT that we saw as recently as last year, but he’s one of the better pieces of the defense. As I understand it he’s also playing through an injury, though I haven’t seen details on how bad of an injury (I haven’t looked).

When a DT takes up a double team, that should free up a defender to make a play. For a 3-4 to work, two of the lineman need to be taking up double teams. In the run game, it frees up the linebackers. In the passing game, there aren't enough schemes to free up rushers on the Steelers, or enough interior pressure. This is why Tomlin's scheme is outdated. The Rams, Eagles, Chiefs, and when the Bucs won with Brady, all rushed with 4 lineman. The Giants with their 2 wins over the Patriots, 4 lineman. The Steelers rush with 4, but 2 from the edge. There isn't enough interior pressure when the edges are pushed up the field and the QB can step up into the pocket.
