    Or he could be talking about being told to drop into zone 10 yards deep on 3rd and 5, knowing they’re throwing underneath the coverage, and not being able to do anything about it without being insubordinate.

    Chris Carter (without benefit of the all-22 which hadn't come out yet) made an eye-opening comment after the game. Said the Steelers got completely away from the defensive adjustments they made the last weeks against the Chargers and Bengals. Said the scheme had changed and communication problems returned.

    What no one but the coaches know is why??

    Well, having our LBs all drop 10 yards back on 3rd and 5, having our DBs drop 10+ yards deeper than the WR is running his route, and having our LBs never move from their zone drop spots until the ball is thrown are all schematic, so I disagree that it’s more so personnel.

    I know defenses have changed but this defense is SOFT all around. They get turnovers but horrendous anytime outside that.

    They did change things. Again though, personnel. Joey Porter Jr got hurt.


    That changed the system. As you said though, for the worst.
