    1. Switch the tackles around. Troy Fautnau is better than Jones. The left tackle protects the QB blind side and Jones is more likey of the two to be beaten in pass protection.

    2. Feature Wilson more. He is a better mid range receiver and can get deep. He is also a better a blocker than Austin.

    3. Use Washighton more. Use Smith less.

    4. Find a FB who can block well on the NFL practice squads. There must be one out there in the NFL or even CFL

    5. Throw the ball past the stick more often on down #2.

Of course we can fire Tomlin and get a real OC ... but that is another thread.

They seem to bring in these UDFA types all the time to play FB those guys don't make the team, the last real FB they had was Derek Watt and he was mostly a special teams contributor.

Get lucky and find a steady franchise QB.

A few teams have won a SB with journeymen or 2nd string QB's. My fantasy: Rodgers goes down for season which I'm convinced is happening. Mason comes in and has a moment. And, what the hell, Pirates win the WS too.

Washington is unstoppable. I agree to utilize him more and Rodgers would agree.

Smith was a luxury and has not lived up to expectations and has been inconsistent.

As far as a fullback they use it very sparingly so Heyward can handle those duties when needed.

    1. Fautanu's college qb was left handed, so the right side was the blind side .... both he and Jones are in the right place.... Just need the proper coaching

    2. Wilson has been slowly logging more snaps than Austin, so his involvement in the passing game is a matter of time

    3. Washington's usage is a no brainer (especially in the red zone).... add Muth in that equation as well

    4. Connor Heyward is more than capable if they dare to actually use him in that capacity

    5. I was thinking more on 1st down

The coaching will always be a problem until it's changed, which renders points 1 - 5 moot

The problem with Heyward is that he isn't that good of a blocker. He's not capable of being a Dan Kreider or even a Roosevelt Nix type, which is what I think the OP meant.
