I agree with this. Rodgers has looked uncomfortable in the pocket the last 2 games, happy feet and throwing quickly and off target to avoid contact. I don’t know if Rudolph is a savior type but he is experienced and in his 8th year. I expect him to take the reigns and lead the Team, this is a real chance to solidify yourself as a franchise QB whether in Pittsburgh or else where. His arm is better and his mobility is a big improvement, he decision making and reading the defense at the line is not equal to A. Rodgers but that is the trade off and with the injury he is our best option. Fresh blood and new energy may be what this team needs right now. Playoffs come around and Aron is healthy we can make that call then but having 2 QBs that can play is not a bad thing.

He is not a franchise QB. He had his chance (for the most part) here and in Tennessee. Mason is an above average back-up QB. I hope he plays until AR is 100%.

Tomlin says that Mason will get most of the reps to start out and Aaron will be evaluated again later in the week to determine his availability and how effective he can be with the injury. It's a fracture but doesn't require surgery. Reading between the lines I would say Mason is starting.

Here’s a wish. We have the game wrapped up early in the 4th. Howard comes in and run the show in garbage time

Even if Rodgers starts, he’ll only last a series or two because when he goes to brace his fall during the Sack, the arm will snap.

He will get knocked out, Oline is bad.

If Rodgers was afraid of taking a hit before, I don't know that sending out there with a fractured wrist is a particularly good idea.

That's my whole problem if he plays. Also....if he gets sacked, how will he protect the ball, and try bracing for impact on the ground all with one hand??

I’m not necessarily advocating for this mostly because AR has had happy feet, even prior to this fracture, However, I’m fairly certain that QBs have played with broken bones on their non throwing hand. Bradshaw comes to mind in 1977.

I’d likely advise otherwise based on his healthy performances as of late, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see AR playing at Bears or vs Bills.

Ha, I was waiting on someone to call that out. I figured it would take someone the smarts of SDOT...which I guess we got. :lolol:

Not to mention the gunslinger mentality means that instead of throwing the ball away and living on the next down he scrambles and attempts to create where there is nothing. It's not as bad as last season and Wilson scrambling to not get killed but holding on to the ball instead of giving the play up.

I think Rogers should rest this week. It's against the Bears so he probably wants to play but I wld rest him. Also, really not fair to judge Mason when he was a Titan. The offensive line he played behind was trash.

I recall reading a lot of things that basically said Big Ben was not a very good mentor to other QBs. Rudolph did get to sit behind him for 3 seasons (although season 1 was with an injured Ben). I don't know the truth of how Ben was as a mentor as I was not in the locker room..... if there is even a bit of truth to that, perhaps sitting behind Rodgers will help him as Rodgers is a good mentor. Either way, it certainly can't hurt you to spend time on a team with 2 QBs that are almost a guarantee to be in the HOF. For reference, there are only 25 QBs that are in the HOF now. That is some incredible knowledge and perspective you get access to. There are not going to be very many QBs that have every had that kind of opportunity.

Yes, I get that all the Rudolph fans only want to consider what he has done on good teams playing against bad opponents, but that's not the valid way to do it.
