I will admit I am happily eating crow. I still would like to see a complete game on both sides of the ball and not have te refs effect the game as much as they often seem to do these days. It was nice to see our defense force a lot of 3 and outs. I thought Pierre and Porter played really well. We seemed to have settled the Safety position which has only helped the cb’s. I feel like we chipped and doubled Chase more is that a true observation in your review?

I still want to see this teammate win without creating turnovers as I think we are going to need to win that way down the road against better teams. If we can ramp up Watts production this defense will be clicking on all cylinders.

I feel like this team needs to play pissed off. We play better seemingly when given no respect. Not sure we can cultivate that mindset every eeek but we need too. Chicago is a trap game we can’t look past them to the Bills.

Chicago is not a trap game....The bears are 7-3 and the steelers are underdog for this game

I thought the secondary played well too. Interesting to see how they move Jalen around again when Elliott comes back.

I don't know about releasing him,,but I agree with the extension. He seems to take more advantage of situations.

At this point I don’t think they are going to rush Elliot back. Ramsey and Duggar are building some familiarity together. The logical spot once Samuel gets acclimated us to move Ramsey to the Slot. Imagine him, Duggar and Elliot on the field together. That would be huge for stopping the run and you have a big body in the box to truly match up on TE’s. The way Pierre has played the last two games it’s hard to discount him in favor of Samuel. It’s a good problem to gave.

There was no name calling. Some people is not name calling. Also it appears you didn't watch the 1st Bengals game this year. Many of the natural rubs the Bengals used the 1st game worked well because we used too much man that game. They attacked those same looks differently this game.

I don't see it mentioned and am far too lazy to read everything in detail....BUT....the Steelers have finally realized that their DBs can NOT play man coverage at a league leading rate. From what I have been able to see, it is really that simple. Manning up Ramsey and Slay was getting them beat for big plays repeatedly. Moving Ramsey to safety and Slay out of the line-up (even if for injury) has vastly improved things. Not to mention that Thornhill was a massive FA miss. Dude is out of football. That says a great deal in a league starved for even mediocre DB play.

Honestly, the Steelers plan to build a 5 man DB unit that could man-up against anyone is an excellent plan. They just chose the wrong guys to do it. Ramsey isn't that guy any longer. Slay needs to retire. Thornhill is and has been terrible through most of his career. Chuck Clark is old. Trice is injured and unproven. Echols is just okay. Etc.

I suspect they will continue to work towards it. A Ramsey, Duggar, Elliot safety rotation with Porter and DRAFT PICK outside with some combination of Pierre and OUTSIDE FA inside could allow them to do it.

Which is all changes. The difference is they don't get into the changes publicly because they know it doesn't help them to talk about it publicly

Exactly. It's the same thing he said after the Indy a$$ whooping. He knows it doesn't help the team to break down things specifically, and he clearly doesn't feel the need to do so.

You do know what I do/did, right? ;)
    Yes, I was there.
I know this game very, very well...

Stupid seems to be name calling? I agree, it probably does apply to a few lunkheads.

In short, as I can see this is going to be an issue...but in short
We have some nice pieces, exactly as I said - They are in the right places and doing the jobs that the first crew didn't get done. (Elliot is quality player)
    Our LB's were deployed better.
In this game we took away the quick throws... In my opinion, we have better Safety coverage than Chuck Clark. I also like Porter and Pierre.....
Was it a different game plan? That's not what I heard. Players played better and spoke highly of Duggard. So draw from it as you want.

    Of note:
1st game: We only had a 24.5% pressure rate. Joe had a clean pocket most of the evening. 2 sack
2nd game: We didn't do much better at ~27% pressure rate. 1 sack.

We did mess his timing routes (those short passes) TJ topped it with a hit that resulted in a pick 6.
I liked the 3rd down defense, 7-15 and not allowing them to line up an convert t4th downs..

The "Man" reference was just to the fact they really don't play it a lot.

This is what gets me sometimes. It's not what I heard, as in what someone else's said. What someone says, and what actually happens is two different things.
Example: I heard Chase say he didn't spit on Ramsey. Yet I seen he actually did spit on Ramsey.
When watching a team one week attack a certain look one way, and the next time they play them attack it a different way, I don't need to hear what they said, I can see it with my own two eyes.
As far as calling someone stupid, I didn't call a specific person stupid. Some people.

After a loss fans love to point out quotes, white board material, social media post and Tomlin’s interviews as reasons for the loss.

Remember JuJu being blamed for the Bills loss after had won 11 straight? No one said a word about it during the win streak but as soon as we lost to the Bills in Buffalo it was all because of JuJu.

You called a whole pile of people stupid including a mod or two. :)

FTR, I'm on your side of the argument about the words coming from players mouths after games.
