    Absolutely

He even basically admitted to it

    The facts are there

But some don’t want to admit they were wrong

2 things can be true. He was mishandled and he didn’t handle what he perceived to be a demotion very well.

That’s an absurd statement. His rookie record proves other wise. He didn’t light it up his rookie year but he made the throws he needed too. Plus that rookie year was foundational for his second year which he was a significant contributor in getting them to a Super Bowl.

Or maybe Pickett just isn't a starting caliber QB in the NFL, none of the other teams he has been on has gotten anything out of him.

Yes, I do realize what I said sounds stupid. I do say stupid things from time to time and judging by this board, I am in GREAT company. ;^)

Stupid, but not wrong, just wrong verb I suppose, maybe not hate, but sure doesn't like us fans or he'd actually try something different (futility of sucking in December, January for over a decade).

It's a bit over the top. I am just ANGRY becuase Rooney DOES NOT CARE about winning football in January and February. He doesn't. He proves it every year Tomlin remains. Tomlin is what he is here. He's nothing, he's a joke among other coaches. He may be smart, kind, funny, whatever, but he CAN NOT WIN meaningful football gamees when he has to go up against REAL teams with far superior coaching (which is 22+ teams right now).

I will remain angry and outlandish until Tomlin is gone. Give me control, just ONE day, and Tomlin's belongings will be outside in his parking space for him to pick up. He's stolen from ownership and fans for 10+ years, providing garbage football.

And again this is where I ask, do you actually watch the games, and if You actually do, how is it that you haven't seen changes in how we play the Defense, and the Offense in just the last two years, not even counting the others. I get bi+ching about the results, but you people that say there haven't been any changes of how we do things either, don't actually watch games, or don't understand what You are actually seeing. It's that simple.

Exactly. Aside from a sh*t team wanting a sh*t coach, I see absolutely zero synergies here.

‘We definitely have changed on offense schematically and the way we operate the offense even from last year to this year under Smith. However the results and issues primarily around the run blocking have remained relatively the same at least when we try to run wide zone. I don’t think we are coaching it right.

On defense I don’t see a lot of change other than we tried to play more man this year and blitz more but the implementation of it has been lacking. Tell me why do we play so far off the cb when we’re blitzing? That wr automatically becomes the hot read every time and yes I know the intent is to tackle the catch before the first down marker but that style doesn’t work anymore because opposing offenses go for it now it seem like 60% of the time on fourth down. It’s an outdated way of playing defense.

The only way I know of to beat it is get the offense behind the sticks in third and long situations and you better make sure they don’t get to within two yards of the marker on third down or they are probably going to go for it. The way you do that is be super aggressive on defense and innovative and unpredictable which we are not.

Situationally they need to put guys in better positions to make plays. Putting Corey Trice last year and Slay this year on a Jamar Chase one on one is ridiculous. I know teams double Watt regardless if he moves but they need to be more innovative with him to free him up.

I just don’t like Tomlins judgements and usage of players at times
, players are in situationally when they shouldn’t be and others are off the field when they should be on it. It’s the sa,e with the way the coaches are managed. I feel like on game day Tomlin is hands off even when there are issues that are repeated through out the game nobody seemingly steps in to address the repetive issues. But I believe he is too hands on with his philosophy and conservative play style both on defense and offense that it hampers the Coordinators.

The bend don’t break defense in today’s NFL doesn’t work anymore when teams go for it on fourth down all the time. It’s death by a thousand cuts watching this defense. Schematically I feel a lot more sure about this offense than I do our defense. The oline needs to develop more in spite of Meyer and we need another WR. The defense in my mind is a hot mess.

They have done a lot more changes than what You have said. A few things you have pointed out aren't exactly true, and I'm not trying to be a dick in saying it. For instance we didn't cover Jamar one on one the whole game, you can't cover the same way all game, other coaches aren't stupid, and they have other weapons. Also we don't always play off when we blitz. Sometimes we do, sometimes we play one off, and one tight, and sometimes we play both tight. I've seen many different ways this year.
Also I'm not saying you, but many people look past all of this , and let there dislike of Tomlin color what is actually happening.
I will tell You right now , if they fired him tomorrow, it wouldn't bother me, but I don't let who is coaching interfere in what is actually being called, done ,and played on the field. So many of the people here would not notice the difference from one HC to the other, but they would think they did.

I won’t pretend to know it all because I definitely do not. I don’t go back and watch the all 22. So my observations have been live but I have made it a point to focus on the coverage more, not always easy depending on the angle of the tv camera. I have noticed quite a bit of off coverage especially from Slay and I know he is supposed to tackle the catch but he has struggled with that. He 3as a bad pickup in my mind. I hate to say it but that’s on Tomlin he has been wanting this guy for years.

I think part of the issue is we have had so many different players change in the secondary over the last few years and that position relies on cohesion and familiarity but at the end of the day it’s up to the coaching staff to correct that and we seem to struggle too.

The other thing is the team just seems to lack fire and emotion. We seem to only play with it after having being embarrassed in the previous game. At the end of the day it still points to Tomlin. He is the one picking these aging free agents up. If they can’t perform at an adequate level he should no better. If we aren’t executing on the field because of communication issues it’s up to him and the other coaches to prepare these guys. If it is scheme and philosophy which I defiantly think is a part of it that’s obviously on him.

ultimately I think we play too conservative. I would prefer a DC like Cleveland’s or KC’s. They are aggressive. Yes it’s risky but it’s a heck of a lot more exciting to watch.

‘The other part is our blitzing has been mixed bag. That works hand in hand with the coverage. I think there is a lot more meat in the bone and innovation that should be explored there. Our ILB’s have not been great at blitzing either.

No, he didn't admit it. I don't doubt that you may have misrepresented something he said to try to fit your failed argument, but he did not do that. You took fiction and ran with it, and don't want to admit you can't back it up.
