I relocated there from Clairton bout 4 years ago.

I understand the fresh start aspect. I just don't think Tomlin wants that fresh start, unless given a push. A change in direction in terms of team development is probably that push. I kinda find his move on from Pittsburgh tied to Heyward retiring tbh.

Don't dismiss the lure of a pay bump. It's a way to measure himself against his peers. Maybe he wants a fresh start. Maybe he wants an organization that seems to have its franchise quarterback and some nice pieces around him. Maybe he doesn't want to stay if the Steelers make it clear they are ready to move on.

The most likely reason he would turn it down would be because he doesn't want his new team to give up resources.

Supposedly, the Giants aren't looking for a new GM. They want to stick with the one they have.

It is such a ridiculous flight of fancy to think Tomlin would be traded, but I guess people have to entertain themselves somehow.

I remember Cowher winning the Coach of the Year award, and then I remember a press conference in which some reporter told Cowher that Noll had never won it. Cowher replied with something like "now you're making me feel bad." So in that press conference, the reporter asking the question understood it as Noll never having won Coach of the Year.

Oh, I'm not dismissing the lure of a pay bump, plus the chances of being around his wife more often. For that reason alone I'd work with my agent and at the very least use it as leverage pull more $ from the Steelers.

And on the Steelers end of things, I think Khan and Weidl want some sort of change of direction as well. Both are under 50 and I'm sure both want to continue to ascend in the sports world, and they kinda can't when the organization been stagnant these past 5 years with high floor/low ceiling teams. A change of direction is coming sooner rather than later and it's really going to be up to Tomlin if he wants to be a part of the change in direction.

I'm not saying he's not getting a jacket. I'm saying no team wants him, because he can't pack a stadium.

Owners care more about packing stadiums and fans buying vs a jacket.

Don't believe me? Go talk to Bill.

Nobody wants him... huhhh... Chicago called about his availability in January, and these rumors wouldn't exist if the Giants didn't have some interest in seeking his availability this upcoming January. This is by far the strangest argument made regarding this issue.

Bill won't get a NFL job again because he's geriatric AF, not his ability to fill a stadium. Plus, Acrisure routinely sells out and bulk of our away games are 1/3 to a half capacity, if not more of Steelers fans alone. Hell, speaking of Bill, dare i tell you what the Pats gave up to acquire his rights? So again, wtf are you on about here?
