The offense’s inability to sustain drives is killing this team.

    The offensive line has been a key factor in our struggles. Going heavy with an extra offensive lineman and a 300 lb. TE was a great change up, but if we need to do that extensively to have a consistent ground game, it severely limits the ability to do anything other than run in those packages. Pretty much every aspect of our line play has been subpar for much of the season other than occasional bursts of effectiveness.

    Yeah, Rodgers was amazingly awful Sunday night, but the line play was poor as well.

    McCormick has had his struggles for certain. No doubt about that. Compared to Broderick Jones though within the past two weeks?! Mason McCormick looks like an All Pro in comparison.

    Not true.

    Past three weeks, it has been a Rollercoaster. Steelers Almighty has evidence of this via an All 22 Breakdown of their win against the Colts. Pittsburgh's Offensive Line were suspect for much of the game; namely in running the football.

    Terrible drop on one of the few darts thrown by AR on the night.

    Rex Ryan said yesterday that Austin has feet for hands.

    What?

    Jones gave up 1 terrible beat on an inside move, but for the most part he was consistent with his pass blocking and they really didn't try to run to his side much this game. Fautano gave up the Safety by spinning for some reason, and looked worse than Jones all night.

    I said past two weeks. Not specifically the Chargers Game. For that matter, the All 22 suggests otherwise. Khalil Mack was giving Broderick Jones the business.

    The hard part will come when Tomlin has to bench a HOF QB. That won't go down well with some.

    And if anyone knows feet, it's Rex Ryan.

    I think that's overstating things. Regardless, the issue that's bothersome for me is that they both continue to demonstrate issues that they had last year. If we're talking recognition of rush schemes or slow feet that's one thing. If it's not knowing proper hand placement, or how to set your feet at the snap, etc., then I'm questioning the position coach.

    I have questioned the position coach since last season. I should have started in 2023. That was my mistake. Regarding the overstatement though?! McCormick has looked worlds better than Broderick sans Sunday the past two weeks.

    Yeah, I've seen enough, I've defended him and hoped he'd come through but he's 4th WR at best IMO.

    I swear these are not the same play. One was the first third down of the game, the next is the second third down. Jones get beat the exact same way both times. No lessons learned here. Rodgers knew he was in for a long night after this;

    This is the same crap I've been "whining and complaining" about since Pouncey and DeCastro retired and Villanueva left in free agency. The O line has been a complete sh!t show going on 5 seasons now. It's never consitent enough for any QB at any talent level. It wasn't good enough for Pickett, Rudolph, Trubisky, Fields, Wilson... and now Rodgers. Until we get consitency out of our O line... Steelers are gonna dead in the water like they are now for the foreseeable future.

    Two wide open receivers... Rodgers preferred a sack for a safety;

    I happened upon the All-22 for that play and wondered what Rodgers didn't like about Freiermuth there. He looked left off the snap, so it had to be an early progression, no defender is in a position to make a play on the throw.

    That's college wide open.

    Sunday nights game was like watching vintage Ben. You need four yards to continue the drive so throw it 25 yards to dbl covered Metcalf and hope to get a PI call. Didn't work on third down it should definitely work on 4th down. How many times did he throw it trying to get a pass interference call and the refs swallowed the whistle

    Austin had the best game as a receiver against the Colts.

    Adrian Klemm was a guy I thought was intriguing. Unfortunately he requested to be released in his second season because he didn't get along with Matt Canada. He went on to oversee the OL at Oregon as the OL coach and offensive analyst and did well. The Ducks were one of the lowest-sacked teams in the FBS that year.

    The Pats interviewed him to be their OC this year, but ultimately made him the OL coach and assistant OC.

    I don't know for sure if he would've developed a solid line, but I don't mind saying that it's a kick in the ass to see a dispute with Canada leading him to leave.
