Is it too eraly to talk about the team direction in 2026? This season is all but over. The team is coming apart at every nail.

My laundry list of to do's.

    1. Hire a bright young coach that is a current OC. Broom Tomlin and yes men / fall guys. Someone like Klint Kubiak. He is without question the top explosive-play-hunting offensive coordinator in the NFL right now, after starting the 2024 season as a hot coordinator in New Orleans before a series of devastating injuries derailed the Saints’ season. Kubiak has experience on the revered 49ers staff and is the son of NFL legend Gary Kubiak, an offensive stalwart in his own right.

As the Primer franchise in the NFL with a friendly owner to work for, we should get a pick of the litter of potential head coaches. Art II must act.

    2. Draft and QB, but not before giving Howard 2 games or more in 2025. Let Rodgers quit in 2026 or do not ask him back. Round one or two for QB in 2026. If we need to trade up, so be it.

    3. Cap management is needed. Cut the older players that are Cap killers and not producing.
Cut the fat on the cap. Spend the money on OL.

4.Once we pick the QB, draft OL, DL, and DB. Go for a WR in round three.

    5. Increase scouting to the CFL and American football in Europe.

We are not that far away and with the above moves we will go up a notch or two.

If only there weren't other teams in the NFL looking to do the same things.....

Thanksgiving, Christmas, deer hunting, pheasant hunting, ice fishing, camping next summer, hiking, beers on the boat, beers on land, beers in the shower. These things, plus maybe 50 more are all on my mind before next years team so the answer to the original question is yes, it is much too early to discuss next year. We should probably let this season play out, eh?

There are. But I think we will get 1st pick of the potential head coaches for vauous reasons.

    1. We offer a solid owner is stable .

    2. We offer the quickest " fix "

    3. We offer outstanding NFL history and a legacy of HOF coaches.

Our only hope is that Khan turns on the decision making afterburners. Based on the drafts that's the dude that does not like to fk around, and this is year 3 and next year will be year 4 of Tomlin bs.

The only problem with your fantasy is, A: Tomlin would have to quit B: Rooneys would have to fire him. Do you, realistically, see either of those things happening?

This ranks up there with the crap I have seen on twitter, like the Steelers should hire Mike McDaniel or Brian Daboll as HC .

It's awesome but just a little warning, it's one of those hobbies where one minute you have no money in it and before you know it you've got all kinds of gear. Still, highly recommend it.

I'd take either of those as OC if Smith doesn't return in 2026.

I would love to go get the best Guard in next year's draft over drafting an early QB that may not pan out?

Whatever happens I think OL Coach needs to go. We have invested some pick into this line and it isn't getting the results he have hoped for.

I should have added IF Steelers had a new HC.... Daboll or McDaniels as OC.

We can draft a decent starting guard in round two or three.

Let's run it back with Tomlin, I mean what are the chances it turns into a catastrophic failure for the 10th season running?
