Because Jones held the ball longer than Flacco and Love and the coverage was probably a little better.

It may have been against the rules, but I’m changing the rules.

This isn't true, the offense bailed out the defense against the Jets and should've had enough points to beat the Bengals. They've scored at least 20 pts in all their games but one average 25.5 ppg. I still feel this is a below average team, but let's be fair in our criticism.

Should have been pedal to the metal.

And for those who didn't get closer to the edge of the seat all the while they were crawling back, common now.

The whole turnover thing I agree with. Without they are just an average bunch actually below average.

Don't even go there on the 3rd down efficiency of getting off the field They have been having issues for years now.

So we shall see if they can dominate in back to back contests.

Flying around making plays and creating turnovers is definitely a component of a good defense. What I’m worried about is that they are bottom 3 in the NFL on ypg as a defense. Hell for that matter they are bottom 5 in ypg as an offense. Sorry if that doesn’t make me feel like this is a legitimate contending team at the halfway point. Maybe they will improve we will find out soon.

Part of it is inconsistency. Part is the matchups. The Bengals' receivers are the best in the league. Both of those teams have better quarterbacks who make faster decisions.

Remember, they were solid in the first half against the Packers. Then they gave up the fluky long pass to Kraft, losing Elliott in the process. Their safety play was horrid in the second half of that game.

That safety play improved against the Colts, with them moving Ramsey to free safety and adding Dugger. That helped fix part of the problem the Packers took advantage of the previous week. Playing Wilson more at linebacker also seemed to help.

That doesn't mean the problems are fixed, but there are things they adjusted to improve matters Sunday.

    2019 to present (including playoffs):

    Screenshot 2025-11-06 084419.png

These games include an old Roethlisberger, a Rudolph, a Duck, Trubisky, Pickett, Fields, and Wilson.

If you ask me, it's rather impressive.

    This.

This is the modern NFL, you can't take your foot off the pedal. True, most of their yards were garbage time - but how embarrassing would it have been if they tied the game because of our easing up? Old school thinking puts us in danger of losing games we shouldn't.

As for 3rd down efficiency - I think buried in that screenshot stat earlier was the 4th down debacle. What were they, 5 for 5? Unacceptable.

I could pick , and chose to do this with something from every team.
For example: The Packers live , and die off of a heave, and a prayer passes, when it works is makes them look awesome, see Steelers, and the Lions, but when it doesn't they look stupid , see the Browns, and the Panthers game.
Like I said we can find something, and do this with every single team.

Why doesn't it translate to the playoffs for the Bills, Ravens, Packers, Lions, and every other team that hasn't seen the SB in forever???

LoL why couldn't the Packers do it against the Panthers, and the Browns.
I could make a long list of this same topic.
Because it's the NFL, and there is a thin line in talent difference from team to team. Where one team may have a great this, another will have a great that. Why does Ravens, and Bills play so well during the regular season that they have current MVP Qbs, but they still get beat every single year in the playoffs????
