That's the best we can hope for.
Someone has to present some kind of threat against single coverage.

I wasn't that high on Bishop, but agree that if they were going to replace him I'd think they'd have a better alternative than Daequan Hardy in mind.

Bishop has a lot of physical traits, taller and very fast...
But he just doesn't translate to the field.. at least as of recent..

Bob Nutting was smart to bring him in a see if that can change.

Only if there's a QB worth moving up for IMO.

If there isn't anyone, I'd rather play another year like this than overdraft a QB and waste a couple years confirming that he isn't good (see: Pickett, Kenny...who thankfully we didn't trade up for).

But it is a team that needs to get younger so wouldn't the draft be the perfect opportunity? I just don't see this team as being that close enough that you mortgage future drafts for what was available via trade this year. None of it was going to make much of a difference.

Don't hate the idea of that, but at what cost? You think there was an impact guy out there they could have got? Or you thinking just depth and trade a late round pick. Just doesn't move the needle much for me.

Hardy is 5'9" 175 lbs, he better be fast. Being tiny and slow isn't a good recipe to stay in the NFL.

It's a good thing the Steelers don't listen to the fans let's give up two draft picks for a WR that can leave after the season , Austin can put up the same stats as some newly acquired WR would have done given the targets.

Even in your own post, the argument isn't that they didn't think the players available could give them a significant push this year. The argument is that they couldn't get any of the players who could have given that push at the price they wanted. Once again, and not for the first time, I think they weakened the team by being too inflexible in that regard. Most importantly, they failed to fill a hole that Khan created by dealing Pickens.

No, he really can't. Meyers would have been a massive upgrade over Austin, who disappears far too often in the downfield passing game.

Then why spend $10 million on Slay? Why waste a draft pick on acquiring Dugger? Why bring in Rodgers?

Austin led the team in TD catches last year over Pickens who you guys keep whining about, Meyers has 350 yards and zero TDs this season.

Cherry picking statistics to mislead your reader is a poor way to construct an argument.

You conveniently left out the rest of the resume in comparing Austin and Pickens. It isn't close. To imply otherwise is do demonstrate a lack of knowledge and understanding of the sport.

Meyers caught 87 passes for 1,027 yards last season. That surpasses Austin's numbers for his entire career.

Two of those didn't require a draft pick and one was mainly due to an injury. Cmon now.

What are the odds are 2nd WR is hiding in plain site? I like what I see on Ke'Shawn Williams on returns. Fast and shifty. Is he a better option that Roman?
