Kahn sets a limit and he sticks to it.

With the MVS signing I think they hold pat, unless it's a defensive player.

Is it possible that the Steelers simply don't want to give up any draft picks at all in order to have what they need to possibly move up in next year's draft for a quarterback?

    I agree
Myself, I am not asking to go break the bank for Waddel... a Dallas like trade.

If rearranging the practice squad, signing a 31-year old WR to said practice squad is a sense of progress... it's fine.
He was forced into the Duggar trade... too many injuries.

Roman Wilson looks to be the guy. That's scary.

You know, GB is looking for a TE... right there you have one of the better TE's available and you certainly can recoup some losses.
But this clown cannot abandon his Oakley's and the 15th hole long enough to care.
I mean 2 stinking years without a legit #2 guy...

I'm going to be ripping this guy to shreds for the rest of the year.
He did zip, unless K-Mart Blue Light Specials on socks counts.

I don't hate him, but I do think your analogy is accurate. It's what I've been saying for a while. He is too focused on everything being a bargain. Sometimes, you have to make a fair deal. Sometimes, you have to make the move that hurts a little to help your team.

Its gonna be hard to trade from 32 and get a QB

If things go well this year I can see the same QB room as this season

I'd trade Jonnu to GB in heartbeat. Take a 4th for him.

Is that by design or is it because no one is 'the guy'?

I thought they would do something because they have 12 picks and the 2026 QB class has been underwhelming this season.

Mannning and Brady hogged them during most of Ben's time.

    Manning.........7 AP1 between 2004/13
    Brady.............7, 2005/21
    Mahomes.......3, 2018/22
    Lamar............3, 2019/24

OK, so let's break this down.

Metcalf could even be the #2. BUt the whole logic behind a "legit #2" is a good WR that can get open, run precise routes and dependable. Being able to read coverages and being on the same page as your QB are very important.
So, we could have 10 WR's and none of them are any better than our practice squad receivers and they are going against top corner backs.

The #1 and #2 are just numbers but I am assuming Metcalf is #1. Our #2 guy needs to present enough threat that they have to accounted for.
So when you have Jerry Rice and Johnanthan Taylor out there, you are in a ton better shape than having 2 Roman Wilsons out there.

I don't think he needs to trade 'all our assets' and I know you see that quite clearly as well.
But trading 1 of our TE's to GB recoups something if we had traded for Meyers for example.
And I know some had this 1-year rental thing going on, the contract thing could be fixed easy.

Omar is just lazy or cheap. He's barely adequate. He won't hurt you but he won't help you.
We don't have to get rid of him, we can put him in the cap department.
I think Weidl is probably more a player guy.

This is absolute ignorance by the front office. So many players available who could really help this team make a push. Not a damn move, man.

Sigh...a trade would have been exciting, but also satisfied with not impulse shopping.

A WR2 isn't going to get many targets in an Arthur Smith offense, so why give up multiple draft picks for one.

Need to keep our draft picks for '26. I was afraid we were gonna trade a sh!tload of picks for a CB or WR2.

This. We're not one player away from competing for a SB.

Trading more than day 3 picks (even rd 4 picks) doesn't make sense for us. Unless maybe it's a young guy who still has some term left

Depends on which picks are given up. 5-7.. yeah, but 4th round or lower, not so much.

I'm not surprised we didn't do anything at the deadline, but it is definitely a bit disappointing. We are betting very hard on DK staying healthy. An injury to Metcalf ends our season on the spot in all likelihood. However, I am also fine not overpaying for rentals. Now that we have hoarded our picks we better get busy this offseason either making moves then, or hitting hard on our selections (or trading up).
