I've heard nothing on this kid since he was drafted. He was taken a round before Cortez Allen, and seemed so much more NFL ready than Cortez. He has all the tools. The only knock on him coming out of college was that he's skinny, but that doesn't matter because he shown us he can hit and tackle on special teams. But every chance he gets in preseason, he blows it.

Says he's done things differently this offseason, from his training to studying. He says his first two seasons he didn't study like he should have, and now he is. For a guy who has good skills but does stupid stuff like get beat on double moves, that could make a real difference.

We'll need him too. We'll need our 4th CB to be decent, and I'm hoping he can push Gay to be the 3rd.

Someone is gonna have to step up because even if Cortez turns out to be really good, which I think he will, someone is gonna have to step up because Ike will probably not be here after this year.

it's pretty obvious he's seeing the writing on the wall.... after getting his chance and blowing it last season, and then watching cortez allen emerge, the re-signing of gay, and the drafting of hawthorne i'm pretty sure he knows this is his last chance... we'll see if the light has turned on or not when the pads come on.

PLEASE not Victorian! Dude was getting OWNED like crazy! He had his coming out party in Dallas where Romo made him a household name on every play.

not to many guys yanked off the PS and thrust into a starting role fair well in this league. they are going to get picked on. it doesn't mean the kid won't improve.

I know and I actually considered that but I just didn't see ANYthing to say that he's ready to compete for a roster spot and significant playing time when it's all said and done.

The sad thing is - even though Victorian had logged significantly less time in the system with our coaches than Brown, he didn't really look much worse than Brown. He's a long shot, but he should be given a fair shot in camp. I expect we'll keep 5 or 6 corners on the final 53. Obviously Ike, Allen and Gay are locks. I think Hawthorne is a near lock because he probably wouldn't last on the practice squad, especially once corners start getting injured. That leaves 1-2 spots. I hope to see Brown, but he has to show something. As a 3rd rounder, he's had more of an advantage than the other guys he's competing with, and hasn't seized the opportunity.

I've said this before, and I'm not going to become a Victorian advocate, BUT...

The improvement between his first and second game was tremendous. Yes, he was awful - painfully awful - but if he learns that quickly, he's worth keeping around.

brown has to stay healthy too. thats two years in a row he's missed time dinged up. that makes a huge difference. king has game expierience and so does DVD and now victorian. it will be an interesting battle.

cromartie-smith too at safety should have a 3rd year breakout year. seems like this is the year of the biggest jump for guys. they have transformed their body to the pro game more and they are reacting instead of thinking. we're gonna be young but there's alot of talent amongst these guys. our coaches have to transfer it onto the field. lake seems to do that well with guys.

Exactly, he got thrown into the fire and performed badly but he showed a lot of improvement after that. I read an article where the coaches were very impressed with him and feel he has a big upside.

I honestly WANT this to be the case. Don't get me wrong. But isn't this probably a moot point since he's too far on the depth chart to have any shot at being on the actual roster barring another injury plague?

i don't think anybody has distanced themselves after ike,tez and gay so far. we will keep one or two more cb's around minimum. browns in his final year and hawthorne is in his first. settle it on the field.

Yes our 4th and 5th corners need to have some ability, but they also need to be able to contribute on special teams. Brown can do that....Victorian I'm not sure yet.

Dick L. will bring him along slowly this year and stick him in the fire next year. I think he has a very good upside.

Those Texas Longhorn guys scare the hell out of me, always get lots of press but never
show up when the lights are on. Go figure.
