That was the way Hines Ward caught the majority of all his passes. I don’t know much about him but more players should cradle the catch. Drives me nuts when WR’s try to catch with hands only and drop the ball. Happens all the time.

 

No big loss if he doesn't sign it sounds like the team wants him on the practice squad, but he's looking for an opportunity to find a spot on some team 53.

Yep, that's why I was talking about how it will be interesting to see how we replace him (in the post you quoted).

My guess is that having Black take those snaps will work out better than picking up someone off the scrap heap or trading a 6th / 7th for a guy.

But we'll see what the team does.

 

A team may have up to 10 players on their practice squad with 2 accrued seasons, or 1 accrued season with more than 9 games on the Active List. Also up to 6 players with an unlimited amount of accrued seasons.

On a side note Alex Bachman is in his 6th year on a practice squad having never been on a 53 roster

It kind of seems like training camp, where they have an honest competition for QB1.....but really, the spot is already taken in Tomlin's mind. Wilson had a great game IMO, but I don't think anything he does is going to be enough. I would not doubt at all if he is on the butcher board as possible trade collateral. It just feels like he has the deck stacked against him behind the scenes for some reason that none of us seem to understand.

Roman Wilson's TD was only going to be caught the way he caught it because of where he was in relation to the ball......but, if it had not been in the end zone, it would have been a fumble. He had his arms stretched out and caught the ball in 2 hands, but the defender had an arm between RW's arms and ripped the ball free. However RW had completed the requirements for a catch and he was in the end zone, so it was a TD which ended the play.

Yeah the first two are nice but you really need the third part . That's why we call them receivers and not BF ( Be Fast) or GO ( Get Open )
