I'm confused, why was my thread merged into this one?

Ya but it’ll most likely be a second rate WR and the same on the O-line. I hope I’m wrong but that seems to be their MO. I read the other day that Marquez Valdez Scantling is coming to the team, which is one of Rogers favorite targets from Green Bay and is just a very average receiver.

I would like to see us get AJ Brown or a big time WR. I think we need a better RB. Warren is not getting the job done and they don’t give Gainwell the ball much. I’m not saying Gainwell is the answer but he at least looked decent in the one game without Warren.

I know Najee is hurt but we should have paid him. I mean what did he get from the Chargers? Like 5 million a year. I think we could’ve afforded that. We should have never let Pickens go. He been going crazy for the Cowboys. I know that means nothing now but we definitely would not have to look for another receiver now.

The Steelers don't need another big time WR he wouldn't get many targets in Arthur Smith offense, Metcalf probably doesn't get enough targets as WR1.

Dont disagree with your overall point but it appears the GB game was the last straw. That Williams TD was horrible effort by Slay. He’s had numerous bad plays.

Maybe but Metcalf is all we have. You can’t tell me if we still had Pickens both of them wouldn’t open up the field more which would make things easier on the weak running game. I have heard MVS and Racheed Shaheed are two WR’s we are looking at. Shaheed is decent but they can keep MVS.

Wilson and Austin are capable of making plays they just don't get enough opportunities, no way were they going to keep Pickens to play with Rodgers.

It's wasn't meant as a negative - I've been merging some threads from this season that deal with the same subject in order to streamline and further discussions by cutting back on redundancy, 'look at me' threads, and general clutter (not saying yours was any of those).

Basically, the goal being to facilitate more robust debate over topics by bringing more voices into the same room, especially for those hot enough to spawn a number of threads addressing the same thing. :thumbs up:

Well MVS was free since he was released… so I don’t hate us at least kicking the tires. Not going to move the needle, but should help if Austin or Wilson get hurt moving forward. He’s also a good deep threat and a quality blocker. He’s fine, even though I don’t think he moves the needle much.

I don’t know how anyone can look at what Warren brings to the table and think anything about Najee Harris at this point. Warren is averaging over half a yard more than Najee did in his Steelers tenure. He’s giving us more yards per game that Najee has since his rookie year, and is doing so in 2 less carries per game. That’s not even factoring in the fact that he is a better blocker, better in space, and a better receiver. Warren is a vastly better back than Najee, and there isn’t really a viable argument otherwise. We could’ve afforded Najee, but Harris just isn’t worth the 5 million (and honestly just isn’t worth giving carries to because it takes the ball out of the hands of superior players). The only thing I’d like to see more of for Warren is TD’s, but the offense seems very content throwing it to our size outside (and it’s largely been working for us). So it’s a minor gripe.

I will agree with you on Pickens though. We really played this offseason like we were “all in” but then traded away a very good player for poor compensation. It was a bad decision in my opinion, even understanding that the move made sense personality wise. With our OL improving, and our run game taking hold, having Pickens opposite DK would do wonders for our offense. We still have a pretty quality offense with only DK… but it would clearly be better. If we’re trading Pickens for peanuts then why make all these “win now” moves? It was a head scratcher for sure.
