I have a crockpot full of Texas chilli that will simmer most of the day.... there will be leftovers and a rewarming will go good with hot dogs and a game.

Hmm. Again I ask (for a friend) but I'll rephrase it: Does "plant-based meat" have 4 legs, a tail, and a mouth or just a stem and roots? Can it be called meat if the latter? Can't do it with ice-cream if there's not a certain % of dairy product in it. You sort of explained earlier but not clearly.

A bunch of meats and cheeses and pickles on thoroughly crusty bread or a Sea (salt) Biscuit.

Stem and roots. I tired of killing a long time ago, and start each day hoping I won’t have to do so. It is difficult to describe it without using the word meat.
The fake steak tips are especially good. Some of the imitation hamburgers are horrible.

What brand fake steak tips? Are they widely available in stores or something local to where you are?

What are the best plant based burgers you’ve tried? I’ve been ok with impossible burgers. Put enough stuff on them (especially grilled onions/mushrooms + cheese) and they can be pretty decent if you take them for what they are and don’t directly compare them to a decent beef burger.

This goes on with a lot of things - companies and advertisers just try to hide it in the fine print or on the backend somewhere. Kraft singles aren't considered actual cheese by the FDA because they're comprised of <51% cheese. They used to be called 'cheese food' (fine print at bottom of package), but then changed a skim milk ingredient to a milk protein concentrate to cut costs, prompting the FDA to remove the food label and reclassify them as 'cheese product'.

You do Know to have vegetables, animals must be killed anyway. If a person is not thoroughly living off of what they grow, then they are contributing to animals being killed whether they eat them ,or not, and something vegetarians don't think about is.....if everyone became vegetarian, more animals would be killed. Animals don't just say oh they need this rice, and soy, and so forth so I won't eat it, and what would they do with all the cows, pigs, sheep, deer, raccoon, wild pigs, crows, turkey, beaver, bears, alligators, and such when You must use up even more land , for more crops??
So in reality the only difference in a vegetarian, and a meat eater is.....the meat eater doesn't let waste what is killed.
Now if You are doing it purely because of heath reasons, I get it.

Is @Quadrupleyoi@Quadrupleyoi a vegan? I might have missed that somewhere previously.

Yeah I missed that part of the play in THE LOST COLONY where Virginia Dare said

"We landed in a place with way too many cows, sheep and pigs."

in the Americas, wild pig populations originated from domestic stock brought by European explorers and settlers
