Since the Patriots like sending us players, maybe they can send us Drake Maye for a first round pick

Did a bit of researching with SIS info to see what TJ Watt might bring in a trade for a CB.

    Watt is ranked as a DE in their ratings and he is 13th. CBs with approximately the same rating as Watt include;

    - Tarheeb Still - LAC
    - Cooper DeJean - PHI
    - Jack Jones - MIA

[for ref. SIS has Ramsey ranked 7th best CB]

At this point, I would jump on any of these guys. Watt's falloff means his value is declining with each game. In two seasons, Steelers might not even be able to get a 3rd round pick for him.

Well, the K-Mart Blue light is shining on anyone who has played DB or has stood around one.
    And cancel the WR.

    Perfect sense.

Ramsey has made more plays this season than Minkah has made the last two years, Pickens teammates and coaches were tired of him and wanted him gone the situation was untenable.

Agreed! Ramsey has definitely been an upgrade over Minkah. I don't think it's relatively close.

It is annoying that Pickens was such a clown here, and even more so that Tomlin fumbled the entire situation.

I really like BTJ, but considering the cost and as a WR2 in Smith's offense I don't see the juice being worth the squeeze there. I think that capital would be better spent on a corner. Slay's fried, Ramsey is on the wrong side of 30, and JPJ is beginning to look like he plateaued as a rookie. They need a playmaker at CB. Ramsey will probably remain effective through the next 2-3 years as a slot/safety rover, but they need a Ramsey of five years ago to be the alpha of that unit.

He wouldnt be a rental though, cheap contract until 2027. I doubt Smith is still OC much longer, his name is already being floated for the Titans job.

I’d take Jakobi too but it’s said that the Raiders asking price is ridiculous. I wouldnt give up a first for BTJ and definitely wouldnt give up a lot for Jakobi.

Ramsey has been beaten quite often. It is more about preventing big plays by the offense than making them. The defense has been far worse in that regard in 2025.

I guess you didn't watch the Bengals make Ramsey look old and slow.

I get the team control - that he's only on the second year of his rookie contract is why I said he'd be costly. I'd have to do some research to try to find a similar player who was moved to get a gauge on what that price might be. Right now no one comes to mind.

Fair point on Smith, but in the meantime I don't know how much value he'd bring to the rest of this season. A corner would have that value, then they could address WR in the offseason, whether through FA, draft, or trade.

I'm not real sure all Ramsey's issue's are him.
I've seen him in a couple of those "WTF ya doin?" deals in coverage.. where he's supposed to pass the receiver to the Safety for example... an Safety is somewhere else.
I also like Ramsey in press coverage as opposed to zone.
It would also help if the front 7 could get pressure.
There's plenty of blame to go around.

    If only wishes were fishes.

Every CB gets beat it would help if the pass rushers did their job, Ramsey single handedly won the Jets game.

I haven’t really heard much about Kyle Dugger for a year or two, but I recall him being a solid player just a few years ago. I wonder what happened and if he’s truly salvageable. I guess we’ll see soon.

I was reading some Patriots fans say he's not the same player after having ankle surgery, it sounds like he might be better against the run than in pass coverage.

No, he didn't. The offense did. He made one play at the end.

You could argue that he played a much larger role in losing to the Bengals. He wasn't just beaten a few times. He was consistently and thoroughly beaten throughout the game, then got torched by Higgins on the game-deciding play that set up the winning field goal.

If Ramsey doesn't make that play against the Jets at the end they probably lose, he still offers the team more than what Minkah did the last few years. Ramsey has more sacks than Heyward and Highsmith .

Jamar Chase makes lots of folks look old and slow. Guess you didn't see Minkah last year...oh wait, neither did I.

Disagree. Point the finger at Slay with 75% comp rate allowed and 16 yds/tgt. Ramsey can't cover the whole field himself. He's not Troy P.

I think they should be looking at both positions. BTJ is very likely not a realistic option for the simple reason that the Jags are probably not going to move him but I still think they should look to bring in someone. Not MVS, thats a waste of time, someone that would actually make a difference.

Rams just traded for McCreary, have no idea why we arent looking at guys like that. Only cost them a 5th. A good man cover CB, smart player.
