Get use to it because Austin is not going anywhere. Tomlin in his presser said there were no changes being made.

Teryl Austin isn't getting fired for doing so is an admission of guilt by Tomlin. Tomlin has as much of a hand in the Defensive Gameplan as Austin does; if not more. The Gameplan by itself isn't the only problem.

Pittsburgh's lack of speed in the Secondary is. The team needs another Corner with some wheels. Riq Woolen from the Seahawks would be a solid start.

If fans start calling for Austins firing the way they did for Canada, to the point it was crossing over to other sport revenues, he’ll be fired. That reached a frenzy.

I dont think it would make much difference seeing as Tomlin would still be orchestrating the defense but Austin could absolutely be fired.

I think he blamed kicking FGs instead of making TDs. I don't agree with everything the coach says but I said the exact same thing, so I agree with him on that.

The defense needs to step it up. Everyone sees that. Defensive plays aren't being called out of a playbook. Certain personnel, certain formations trigger certain defensive calls. When they do that, we're gonna do this. Think of it like doing an audible.
There is something breaking down late in games though.

It is speed but it's also determination and grit. This team is not playing Steelers football. No explanation needed.

I don't think the team knows what Steelers football looks like anymore.

Maybe need a round table discussion with the likes of James Harrison . Or maybe just bring them in one by one and he could show them first hand how to tackle and hit..

Firing Austin would just be another smokescreen that doesn't address the root of the problem. The fact that most fans and now even some in the media recognize that the Steelers need a fresh start without Tomlin, is an indictment of Rooney's competence. Or incompetence, as it were.

More than the lack of speed are the missed tackles. That's a fundamentals breakdown. They are epidemic on this team right now. And they just lost their best tackler in the secondary.

Determination and grit are important yes. That said, even factoring both in, opposing WRs still will get free. The past two weeks are evidence of that.

Colin is a flip flopping ass clown. How is the money that the Steelers have invested in the defense stopped them from acquiring talent on the other side of the ball??!! They don't have a cap issue. They have a coaching issue / talent issue.

Colin gushes on teams that have offensive coaches and established quarterbacks. Would I like an offensive head coach, sure, but that doesn't help if the quarterback is useless. 4 of last 5 drafts have gone offense in round 1. One of which being a QB. He was ass cheeks, but they tried.

Were the Chiefs the model franchise before Mahomes and Reid? Lions before 98 tops 5 picks? The Bills before Allen?

Steelers need to hit on a QB and move on from Tomlin, until that happens where the money is spent is a moot point.

    Defensive spending isn't prohibiting that.

Then why can't they land a legit #2 WR?

It doesn't matter where the money has been spent at this point. The defense sucks and is slow compared to the better defenses in the NFL... Rams and Broncos for example.

Because a legit #2 would take more draft capital at this point. Who is a legit #2 they haven't acquired because of salary demands?

I'm not sure a legit #2 WR would get many targets in Arthur Smith offense, you can say they don't feed their #1 WR Metcalf enough.

Word on the street is that Tomlin is thinking about bringing Tate in for a tryout. Need a little 'pain time':
