Yeah, that's been his career - plus speed, below average hands. Used to drive my dad nuts as a member of the Pack.

Not sure why we felt the need to pick him up now.

Doesn't matter how many offensive weapons we get, the defense can't stop anyone

Looks like they gave it a try with the splash trade and signings. Didn’t work out and, rather than investing more future capital, they are throwing in the towel

Hopefully this kills off any dumb talk of trading away draft picks for a WR in another failed attempt to win a playoff game.

That might be the point of the signing. They are trying to do a Bengals approach by 'loading up' offense to cover for a sad defense. It kinda has worked for the Bungals. Problem for the Steelers? MVS ain't Chase, or Higgins, or even their WR3.

    These things aren't mutually exclusive.

Just because they signed a WR (probably a WR3/4) doesn't mean they aren't doing other things.

They already signed a safety when we lost Elliott earlier in the season (Peppers).

And the DL is pretty deep. I like Ekuale. But he's played 72 snaps this year (14%). Although he is playing NT where we don't technically have another guy. Will be interesting to see how we handle this. Do we just have someone like Black take those snaps? He's certainly big enough for it.

There's a quote in here from Austin (Sept 21) re: Black at NT. Sounds like they were open to having him play there. But with Ekuale there, they could move Black outside. Maybe they move him inside for some snaps with Ekuale out. Probably better than just picking someone off the scrap heap IMO.

I read this morning that Ekuale (torn ACL) is out for the rest of the season.

Williams was worse because they gave up a draft pick for him. At least Valdes-Scantling only costs them the value of the contract.

Davante Adams plays for the Rams now. Vegas was two teams ago for him.

And no chance in hell the Rams give him up.

it seems like a way to appease Rodgers, who has looked unhappy quite often during the current losing streak.

    Definitely not.

Now getting Jakobi Meyers from the Raiders is a realistic option. Maybe that's what he meant.
