San Fran was the real eye opener for me. But I can understand fans being apathetic due to the product on the field and getting some cash to ease the pain.

Rooney cares. He believes in Mike Tomlin....to a fault. But I do believes he cares about the fans. I'm sure he wasn't thrilled to hear 25,000 thousand people chant "Go Pack Go" in his building on national TV.

    1) This has happened very rarely; more often malcontents have been shipped off in trade or allowed to leave without offer in FA.

    2) In reality this doesn't happen. Packer fans travel well and make their presence known. Our fans still routinely take over opponents' stadiums.

    3) The Terrible Towel and Renegade and the city have been mocked by others for years. Jealousy breeds contempt.

    4) Just as many (or more) want to come here.

I'm not making a case that change isn't needed; it's past due. But if you're going to bag on the org, at least make it reasonable.

    San Fran it def happened
I believe it was the first game of the season
    Was the opening game 2023
That was the very first time that I have seen an opponent’s fan base just take over our stadium.
    Was very disappointed

    This.

The issue isn't the cartoonishly silly things that have been repeated ad nauseum by the supposed "One Above All" on the board. The issue lies in what @S.T.D@S.T.D and me have been saying for the past two seasons; a lack of speed in the secondary. S.T.D. has stated it much longer.

Given how the upcoming 2026 Draft is very top heavy as far as the talent and depth of Corners are concerned, I wouldn't be surprised if Round One is when the team elects to finally take one. If not Round One, oh most definitely either Rounds Two to Three.

I don't disagree with stocking the position with young (and fast) talent, but the other way a secondary shines is with an effective pass rush. Aside from a couple of games this year, we seen not to engage in the type of dynamic blitzing that forces a QB to make quick decisions and puts more demand on those dropping in coverage.

Part of the reason is Art Jr isn’t serious about putting a winning product. You wouldn’t have seen this during Noll or Cowher’s tenure. Steeler fans would rather sell their tickets to Green Bay fans than watch an inferior product. The demand for Steelers ticket is eroding as evident by declining prices on Stubhub. Right now I can get a ticket for Indy game for $153. I remember that in 2016, the cheapest I could find against Giants was $375 (inflation notwithstanding). There is a gradual erosion in interest and you are not creating any new fans.

An effective pass rush that isn't being schemed well enough to do so. That said, an effective pass rush is only but a part of the current problem. Not having the horses in the secondary severely hurts the pass rush.

Considering both are complimentary, if the DBs cannot hold up long enough, the pass rush will never be able to get home.

You'd never see the amount or the noise of the traveling team's fans last night in say Kansas City or Buffalo and Art has to come to grips with the dwindling team's HISTORICAL STANDARDS the last 10-12 years

It doesn't matter who you have in the secondary in this scheme and it hasn't done for a long long time. Every team, simply slices the secondary wide open in the short passing game, 3rd and long? LMAO - basically a gimme...

It's an Omar the Kmart blue light special shopper move.
The current situation is nobody not named Metcalf is getting open... sure Wilson caught a couple, mostly from dropped coverage.
I would agree, at this point in the season, you've already sewn your oats.

I live about 7-8 hours from the Burgh. Actually worked with a guy who made 6 home games and 2 away (they were closer) one season and still showed up for work Monday after a 1:00 Sunday game. Of course I was the only other Steeler fan at work so I ended up working double time when he came into work after a game.

49ers. Packers(2x) Cowboys. Patriots. Chiefs. In last 3 years… There’s going to be a lot of Indy this weekend too. We takeover terrible West Coast teams and then places with terrible teams and a lot of transplants like ATL, NC, DC etc. We won’t takeover Ravens, Philly, Packers, Chiefs stadiums. Season ticket holders have been over Tomlin for a long time. Same BS every year… They aren’t falling for the hype. If they can sell 2-3 games and make profit they will 100% do it and I don’t blame them.

Besides this off-season which big name FAs came for “their favorite coach” Tomlin last decade? Only one is Minkah and then we got rid of him.

AB and Hargrave won SBs. Bell made it to one. Pickens looks like one of best WRs in the league. The good ol days of if you leave the Steelers your career is done is long gone.

So many great things gone under Tomlin. We use to be elite at drafting expect at least one HoFer or multiple pro bowls a draft. We can’t even hit home runs on our 1st round picks anymore.

You're throwing stuff at a wall here. That some of the teams you listed are among having some of the best traveling fanbases in the league and thus had a larger presence at a Steelers home game doesn't mean they took over the stadium.

So why doesn't this year count? Tomlin hasn't won a playoff game in eight years. It's not like guys are coming here to ride coattails to a Super Bowl. Anyway, there have been several - both internal and external - over the years that have said they either wanted to play, or would only want to play, for Tomlin. Regardless of whether or not he's a good coach, players have said that.

Show me where you think AB and Bell were significant contributors to their respective teams making it to/winning the Super Bowl. Hargrave was a good player I wish they would've kept, but they chose to go with Alualu, who they saw as solid and cheaper.

What's anymore? It's widely acknowledged that the Colbert drafts tanked at the end. Khan has overseen the last three. It's a little early to say how they're going to shake out, especially with the injuries that have cost several their rookie seasons. And while they've always been a good drafting team, the one HOF/multiple PB per draft is an exaggeration.[/QUOTE]
