I picked the obvious - Baltimore. I’m not sure who else it could be. The Browns suck and Bungles are gonna bungle. That leaves us, and, well…. We have a 2 game lead on Baltimore with 2 head to head matchups yet to come. That means that all they have to do is match us win for win the rest of the season and sweep our head to head matchups, and they win. Does anybody really think we’re going to win more games than Baltimore the rest of this season? We’ll need to win head to head.

I selected the Ravens as well. I think we had something like a 3 game lead over them last year with 4 games to play. We know how that ended.

I don't see the STEELERS winning more than 2 of their remaining games.

Harbaugh and Tomlin gonna lose it to Bengals, that’s the whacky season it is.

I think after a 1-5 start the Ravens are right back in it with how bad the rest of the North looks right now.

My guess would be Ravens OR we win the division with Tomlins first losing season and 8-9.

Excuse will be “how can you fire a coach who won the division!!?”

The Ravens are facing the easy part of their schedule the rest of the way while we are facing the toughest part of our schedule. The Ravens win the division by at least 2 games over us.

I still think the Steelers make some changes on defense and squeeze out a 10-7 record and the title. Tomlin and the vets have too much pride to let things continue to slide (i could be wrong though). His teams run on alot of hubris. Underestimating the bottom feeders and playing their best when everyone counts them out.

or maybe its time everything catches up with them…

    From The Athletic:

Time to fight over who’s sadder

So much of every NFL season is defined by its losers. I don’t mean that in a bullying sense, but purely about wins and losses — and expectations. Yesterday’s NFL slate was marked further by those losers … and one team that didn't show up in the losing column.

We’re ranking our five saddest fan bases after Week 8 (you get to vote on this at the end, too):

    5. Bengals

Cincinnati scored 38 points with new quarterback Joe Flacco and still lost to the Jets, who are exonerated from this list today (and today alone) after earning their first win. Between Joe Burrow’s consistent injury misfortune and the overall roster construction, I’m not sure how Bengals fans do it.

    4. Falcons
The NFC South remains baffling to all onlookers, particularly in the case of Atlanta, which got trounced by the hapless Dolphins yesterday, 34-10. It’s the Falcons’ second straight loss and puts them at 3-4, well behind the 6-2 Buccaneers. All hope for a good season is gone.

    3. Steelers
Does anything ever change with this team? Put whatever quarterback or offensive coordinator on the payroll and you’re still going to get slightly above-average play with a low playoff ceiling. Pittsburgh is 4-3 still, but last night’s loss to the Packers showed glaring weakness against the league’s best.

    2. Tie: Saints/Titans
I lump these teams together due to similar profiles. The Titans have their quarterback in Cam Ward with a coaching search ahead. The Saints have their coach in Kellen Moore with a quarterback search ahead. Both are 1-7, enduring un-fun seasons after blowouts in both Tennessee and New Orleans. Bleak.

    1. Browns

We always end up here, right? Sorry, Cleveland fans. Your superstar defensive end puts up a monster day (five sacks) in a blowout loss that had the home stadium hearing MVP chants for an opposing quarterback.

I picked the Rats. Although I think it will be down to the wire with us.

Winner gets the 4 seed. Loser watches the playoffs from home.

Of course my heart wants to say Steelers, but my brain says Baltimore. But the AFCN has been pretty bad so it's a toss-up for who could be on the bottom.

Generally speaking it was us and the Ravens that made the AFCN look good. Bengals got a QB but he is so injury prone. I was sure with Burrow they were going to rule the AFCN for years.

I think 9 wins will take the AFCN which is why I picked us. Mike knows how to get 9 wins. ;)

Don't fret if we go into Playoffs 9-8. We almost lost the SB to a 9-7 team.

Ravens. Their schedule is easy from here on out. Ravens with Lamar and Henry are built for December/January football. Their D will be fantastic by the time they play Steelers.

This is my big complaint about NFL seeding. It is possible that the winner of the North has a losing record of 8-9 but will host a playoff game. The Bills or Patriots with around 13 wins would have to play on the road against a team that won 8 games. The division winners should still be automatically in the playoffs to keep the divisions relevant but the 7 teams who make the playoffs should all be reseeded by won/loss record once the playoffs start.

It's turning into the ghetto division of the AFC.
