They didn't, but Wentz doesn't get rid of the ball quickly. The difference was Flacco. Also, Chase and Higgins are better.

    We had a good plan?!

    Well, schematically that is possible.
But part of "having a good game plan" is to find ways to get to the QB and stop the run and get your best weapons to create problems.
    None of that happened.

Chase is a problem for any team. He's going to get catches.
What most teams do is man him and have a safety over the top.

What happened? Well, the last placed rushing offense was ripping holes in the front 7 so now DB's have to keep an eye on the run game... that is hesitation.

And what gulls me even more is the fact that Austin has been fired a few times.
His defense set a record for points allowed over a 3-game stretch and he was run out of town.

We have good players, it's obvious when we get turnovers.... but it's not the schema.
We have heard from the Bengals and the Ravens that we are predictable, and that is because we run the same base defense with the same plans.
There is no genius wrinkle in the defense that is unexpected that allows a guy like TJ to wreck havoc or Safety blitzes to work.

    The man is just unimpressive.

Jefferson and Addison had 126 and 114 yards against us but yeah in the steelers current standard they were able to shut down them

It was a coaching clinic by Zac Taylor in this game....It was how bad our coaching staff on defense were in this game!

Chase had a career night Thursday, literally. Obviously he and Flacco were on the same page and saw something we were or were not doing they could exploit. They beat us on a last minute FG.
    It's never all or none.

Happens all the time. Difference is nobody is paying attention to everything said , every game about the other 31 teams.
My question is, why is it to some of the Steelers fans that they think it's always some kind of conspiracy when they lose . I can date this all the way back to Noll. In all reality it's probably the same reason, because I don't pay attention to what other fans say about their teams outside of here , and there.

What's the conspiracy in saying Austin sucks?

To some, Austin sucks based on what they see on the field: The way Austin used the prized DBs and pass rush (second highest paid in the league) sucked last Thursday.

    Where's the conspiracy?

You mean like Bills HC, Lions HC, the Ravens HC, and every HC that hasn't been to the SB??
Wait our HC has been to two SBs. If everyone knew everything we did we wouldn't average 10.5 wins a season........nor would Fields, Wilson, Mason, and even K. Pickett be better here then since they had left. Hell Mason ran back to us after seeing what it was like other places, under other HCs, and I bet Fields, and Wilson would do the same right now

I was talking about everyone knowing all the calls bull$hit.
As to Austin... Nobody has called perfect games every game. If so....we would have undefeated teams every year, and yet I can only remember two undefeated teams in my entire life, and only one of those won a SB that year.

Every team in the AFC North has a dismal record when playing on the road. So while it is aggravating at least misery loves company.

You don’t remember. The media literally was framing it that way saying Dick LeBeaus defense owns rookie QB’s. Now you have outlets replacing Lebeau with Tomlin.

Since DL left, there have been 4 more losses to rookie QB’s and only 2 during his tenure. You do the math.

It would been a new rock bottom if the steelers would have a L against the current titans team!

I am surprised you feel this way. You don't know anymore then any of us how this will go but if you go by stats. The Packers won their last game against the Steelers as the away team in 1970. Thats not the only stat which is important but you have to agree it's statistically relevant. 9-7 against the packers all time at home is kinda important as well. Sure anything can happen but I want to know why you always slant everything and make it a negative bias. This is a 50-50 game in my eyes even with the stats.

The problem is, with some teams it is understandable when they fail on the occasion.
Some very good Defensive staffs have got beat this year.
BUT, most teams make adjustments in the offseason. Especially if there is a common thread.
Austin has a record of mediocre to terrible. (even in the record books)
He never makes any adjustments to get his guys opportunity. There are no changes other than rotating his LB's which happens anyway.
Yeah, they tried a few things this last time... so there is that.
But Austin's body of work is not great.

Who cares about Packers not winning in Pittsburgh since '70? Steelers didn't beat the Raiders out west until Kenny Pickett was QB in 2023. Roethlisberger never won in Oakland/LV/LA and he is bound for HOF. Neil O'Donnell of all QBs was the last Steelers QB to win in Oakland before Pickett did. Does the Packers record in Pittsburgh really matter? Nope. :smiley1:

This '25 defense is terrible and incompetent overall... and Packers have good WRs and a QB who is good enough to get them the ball the same way Flacco did last week.

There is that slanted bias again. Let's do this instead.. Why don't we look at your predictions this year. I think that is very telling. Don't you?

What do my predictions have to do with the inconsistent and bottom ranked defense? Steelers beat the Jets and Patriots with a terrible overall defensive performance. Look up the rankings of Steelers defense. We're right there with Cowboys and Bengals.

Reminds me of the time I think it was the Chargers, their line was beat to hell, they were pulling guys from Walmart to put on the line before our game and wouldnt you know, they stonewalled us.
