    And. ......
Let's look at this realistically. If they knew everything we did, every team would know everything we did, and we would not be averaging 10.5 wins a season. We would be the Jets instead.

Yeah, then why hasn't Flacco beat us every time he's played us. You guys believe anything. LoL.
The whole NFL knows our schemes, and everything we do, but we average 10.5 wins a year. They are all just being nice to us. LoL

That means nothing. Did the Patriots run the same things over, and over when they played the Panthers, and the Panthers beat them all the time, and apparently the Panthers didn't know ours because we beat them all the time.
How about Andy Reid, did Mike Tomlin know everything that Andy Reid ran before He got Pat Mahomes??? Is that why Tomlin, and the Steelers owned him before then???
No. See how silly that sounds. Not getting too deep into it, the simple version is... It's because Cam Newton was a running Qb, and the Pats play mostly man coverage, it's what they were best at. Of course everyone plays combinations of both, but all teams are better at one than the other , and man is horrible for running Qbs, and must use a spy, which causes void in the D, and We play mostly Zone which is better for running Qbs. That's why we always beat Cam Newton, and the Patriots hardly ever could. It's called matchups. Nothing more nothing less. Not because we knew everything the Panthers ran, but we could have said that, and the gullible Panthers fans at that time would believe that.

It’s kind of hard to defend the defense of a coach whose team has allowed an average of 40 points last 6 playoff losses.

    Might be worse
    Throws a nice deep ball
    Intermediate ball not good
    Short passes also iffy
    No pocket presence whatsoever
    Difficulty going through his reads
Most blaming it on OL and OC trying to make him a pocket passer
Hopefully he comes back next year
    Definitely not ready for NFL

Other teams don't have Chase and Higgins to throw to. If you get quality QB play to throw to these weapons they are hard to stop.

True for Higgins and Chase but in the NFL,many offense are better that the current bengals offense even if they don't have a elite duo at the wide receiver position

Anyone that thinks that Bags Tomlin is some Guru of Defense is delusional.

He is so far from a Guru he is actually average if that. Guru :roflmao:

More then one opposing player said the defense is predictable.

This and the highest paid defense in the league and has been.

Just a reminder Bags was a defensive coordinator ONE season. His rank was 8th in the league. Strong at stopping the run but last in the league against the pass. Funny because he was a secondary coach with Dungy in Tampa. Was promoted to a secondary coach after being hired as a quality control coach from 2001 to 2005. It was his first NFL job.

I don't typically buy into players comments post game, but the hard thing to dismiss is tendencies. We all have tendencies, Tomlin is no different. He has been here for 17 years now? Easy to pick up on some tendencies.

Not a Tomlin hater, but it is time to change it up. This should not be an endless term. Time for a change.

Why would we care about what he did as DC 20 years ago?

And who will develop said corner? Look at our secondary now. One player was drafted by us, Grabby Jr. Oui Oui Pierre was an undrafted free agent by us. Both of which are still need development! Look at the track record! Its not a good one.

    I understand the frustration Ask.

Lets not forget Bags Tomlin entered the league as a quality control coach and was promoted to secondary coach with Tampa. Secondary coach. Doesn't have Dungy to lean on.

I was just stating facts. One year as a defensive coordinator.

Do you really think he is a Guru? Do you think that its Austin's defense?

I want to see a defensive coordinator come in with his own scheme and let Bags just be the head coach. Maybe the development phase would excel when we draft especially secondary. This is when he had his most success. Not going to happen but it should.

Who said Tomlin is a defensive guru? You think an offensive minded HC isn't going to be involved in his team game planning even if he doesn't call the plays.

If it means nothing, why do opposing players keep saying "we knew what they were going to do" repeatedly?! That simply isn't normal for an opponent to say. First time is an accident, second time is a coincidence and third time is a pattern.

JaMarr isn't the first opposing player to say this. Therefore, it is a pattern of behavior relative to the defensive play calling. Until it changes, expect more of the same.

    Come on Ask
We all know the Bengals were just saying that to kick the Browns even more while they're down.
They eeked a win out at home so they made fun of the Steelers and the Browns and the other teams who loss to us.
    Nothing more nothing less.

    What? That's crazy talk.

You understand both would be scooped up by Our Lady of Feminism high school spinning up its new football team, right? Never let go of something so valuable.

We have and have had high school level coaching for 10+ years now. The last time we had an HC/OC/DC of NFL caliber was Cowher/Haley/Lebeau.

We also know Tomlin is going no where. We know Rooney family doesn't give a crap about Super Bowls. They threw in the terrible towel 10+ years ago. They just want to make money. Extract as much as they can from ignorant, gullible fans. Heinz field or whatever it's call now, should NEVER sell out...EVER, while Tomlin is the coach. Sad so many fans rush to line Rooney's pockets while they slide down the owner ranking a spot or two every year. Right now, there are only a handful of owners that are worse than the Rooney conglomerate.

Rooney's have to prove to me they care, right now, they don't. Actions are louder than words. Tomlin and Rooney both wen to the same word salad clinic and received mastership certificates.

If teams know what they're going to do then I guess the Steelers should lose every game then, I don't pay attention to that nonsense you ever notice the opposing players never say anything when they lose .
