The Bengals did what I wish the Steelers would do when a Team visits their stadium (home turf) play them aggressively to secure a W that did not happen so the result is a L the proof is in the film they will watch! Plenty of blame to go around! It's early enough they can right this ship and get back on the winning track!

Steelers need to win at least 2 of these next five to stay afloat. That would put them at 6-5 and still in the AFC North race.

what has that to do with allowing a journeyman QB beat us like a rented mule? Screw Fiels. He sucks. I was no expectin 16 and 1 but I was expecting to beat a team with the worst running game in the NFL. They got well against our boys. That was a total team disaster. Coaching, players the whole damn lot of them. I guess expecting the Steelers to not fold against a terrible team is asking a little much. Highest paid defense in the NFL. Great return on investment there. I've already given up ever seeing the Pirates again, now I'm forced to put that expectation on this class of sadsacks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND YES I DO FEEL BETTER!!!!!!!!~

I'm gonna just throw this out there! You know Ole Joe Flacco was salivating at the mere opportunity to stick it to an old foe! Once again and that, had to have motivated him beyond belief!

The Bengals OC and HC spotted the weakness in the steelers defense. When they go to subpackage football and put in two DL both of who line up between the tackle and guard it leaves a giant gaping hole in the middle of the Ol uncovered. The Bengals spread them out at that point and just ran Brown straight up the middle. You don't have to be the greatest OL in the league to open that hole and the miscommunication between the ILB's and Safeties made things worse. I saw Queen and Wilson trying to shoot the same gap and got eaten up by a single blocker. As soon as they walked guys into the box the Bengals looked for single coverage with Chase or Higgins and lets face it Ramsey and JPJ can't hang with those two without being handsy. The rest of the secondary cant hang with them period. The Steelers never changed things up when they were getting just gouged play after play.

Correct me if Im wrong but I think even Rex Ryan had a couple years also giving the Pats fits in a time where the Pats were dominating week in and week out.

I buy into that. So it wasn't the fact that Flacco has super powers or anything like that - It's the stuff you said above.

it wasn't really even Flacco - any non-**** QB would have done the same last night.

You are probably right. Then we would be 5 and 1 and have a much bigger lead in the division.......but we would still be the same team. Last night was very typical of our playoff games. It does not matter if we get to the playoffs with a 16/1 or a 7/10 record. The result is going to be the same. We run the same defense that we have run for 15 years and an opposing playoff team that wants to win will pick us apart in the middle of the field, followed by our losing.

The only difference right now is that our offense is capable of putting up more points than we have been able to do since probably 2018ish. I don't mean we have never put up more points, but rather that I think we are now capable of or close to being able to consistently put up more points than in the previous 6ish years.

Flacco is 12-11 against the Steelers... that's basically a flip of a coin whether Flacco makes a difference in the game or not. Does not seem like Steelers have trouble with Flacco on a regular basis.

What stats exist to say Flacco's "style" beats the Steelers on a regular basis?

Maybe we should have been salivating at the mere opportunity to stick it to an old foe!

He keeps proving people wrong every year. I knew he was still a good player. What i didn't know was how good he'd do with so little preparation. I was pretty wowed at that.

I actually admire Flacco. Seems like a decent dude taking it in stride. He played well. He knew our game and beat it.

I keep saying this to the people that say this. Did You not see last week's game, against what many on here told me was a awesome team, the Packers??? The Bengals went into Green Bay last week with Flacco just on the team for 3 days, and barely lost to a team that again, many on here told me was SB bound. The Bengals D is not very good, but that offense is loaded, and just needs someone to get them the ball.
Also... It's not a hard thing to understand that when a team has to worry about Your passing game the running game gets better, and when a team doesn't have to worry about Your passing game , the running game tends to get worse. This is not rocket science

Everyone loses year end , and year out. That's why I've only seen two teams in my entire life go undefeated in the regular season.

We are not the only team with a good record to unexpectedly lose to a chump team this year.

Don`t run around with your hair on fire yet.
