Weren't you the one pimping Wilson over Fields last year when the team was 4-2 and Fields was improving week to week?

Not wanting to argue, but wondering what you see different with Meyer in this scenario. what about Meyer makes you want him more than Callahan?

Dude they're not going to make a coaching change right now the OL has been playing better of late, Meyer is likely gone after the season.

Yeah I was, because Fields wasn't improving, what gave you the impression he was. I watch the games, I seen the guys open that he didn't see, that's why I wanted him replaced. You are talking about firing a coach in the middle of the season, and starting over for a whole offensive line, not just changing one player.

    I don’t get your comment here , no-one is suggesting what you’re claiming……

Tomlin brought in Flores not to replace but add and help. Was it a brother helping a brother or was it a smart coaching decision ?? Probably a mix of the the two.

Meyer is not a bad OL coach but he isn’t Great either . Callahan is a Solid OL coach and we have a very young OL!!! Adding Callahan would certainly help mold and grow these young talented OL!!

The offensive line is the least of this teams problems right now. You dont fix what isnt broken. Adding another voice for virtually no reason would likely be a detriment, not an asset.

You have got to be kidding, can’t be serious . Every thing, I mean Everything!!, starts @ the LOS and we can’t run worth a crap without a Mountain of a TE AND another OL coming in!!! We have to keep a weapon in Muth off the field because he isn’t a great blocker and this OL struggles in protection and run blocking! No reason, seriously ??? Detriment??? Another Solid Coach can only help these young guys.

And yes, we do have other problems in other areas but strengthening our CORE won’t hurt the other areas and may, just possibly help them.

Sorry. Couldn't possibly disagree more. We are now 6 games into the season.

#1. Why on earth would Callahan want to come here and basically be what amounts to an assistant ?

#2. What possible difference do you think he is going to make? The system is in place, the Steelers are not going to make major changes to philosophy or regimen this late in the season.

#3. What kind of message does this send to your team? The unit is making progress, and you cut the line coaches nuts off in order to hire a recently fired head coach.

There is nothing that you are suggesting that sounds appealing at all. There is ZERO chance the Steelers are considering this.

Zero sacks and nearly 150 yards rushing. The OL is starting to gel

First and foremost Meyer is under contract till the end of the 25 season. he is not going anywhere.

And the line is improving as some have said as well.

Whether its smoke and mirror or not.

I've wanted Meyer to be replaced but don't be surprised if the line keeps excelling they keep him around with a new contract.

Are you sure? We are playing 6’7 300+lb TE more than Muth AND Extra OL (#74 Spencer) on running plays And pass plays are short passes with Aaron releasing the ball in NFL record times of less than 2 sec!!

Myles Garret said if he was running buck naked he still couldn’t get to Rodgers due to super quick passing

Im not talking about Brian who was the fired HC but his Dad who was the his OL Coach.

It’s ok , you didn’t understand the Original post, assuming we fire Meyer which was never said and now the wrong Callahan .

Im not here to argue for argument’s sake.
    Im now out.

Okay, so let's play this out...

What is gained? The Steelers are 6 games into the season. Training camp is in the rear view mirror, so is the bye week. How would bringing Callahan in as an advisor help? I'm being serious here. You saw a big name, and made a thread, but you didn't think it through. What would the expectation be? Did it ever occur to you that Pat Meyer probably doesnt think he sucks. How would he feel about the move this late in the season?

You do realize Bill Callahan has been available, and passed over in years past.

If Bill is such a great OL coach why was the Titans OL so bad?

4-19 record, 77 sacks allowed. That's 3rd worst in the NFL. If Bill posted those numbers here he would be run out of town faster than Meyer.

The fact you don’t recognize ( nor does steeler6) that Bill Callahan is considered a very good OL coach my his peers and sports writers , due to his short stint with a bad titans team, negates any possibility of having a productive debate.

I believe he could come in and help Meyer with this group but you don’t , plus you’re worried about Meyer’s feelings, which I also don’t care about.

Either way, we all have opinions and while I know Bill won’t be joining this group I believe it would have helped and was curious how others thought about it. I appreciate your comments even though I don’t agree.
