HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO ??? earth to dumb a$$ linebacker... lets recap for you james.. lets see.. you made 6M last year.. the steelers offered you a contract at 70% of that... or a 30% reduction... JAMES in case you cant do the math and maybe your idiot agent couldnt do the math ,,, thats 70% of 6M or 4.2 million.... but you wanted more... i think its called greed or stupidity or maybe both ... so you go to all the other teams and it comes down to the ravens and bengals... you ultimately take 3M from the bengals.. so i hope you maybe spend $10 of the 3M on a hand held solar calculator so in case you are ever given the choice of 70% of 6M or taking 3M ... you are smart enough next time to take the higher number and stay with the team that loved you for 10 years.. hope decastro puts you on your ass first play and bell steps on you as he runs over your greedy a$$ ... i live in cincinnati 5 months a year.. hate the bengals.... now i got even more reason to want to see the steelers beat them ... steelers forever .. harrison never !!!

I don't understand the anger towards Harrison. He made a decision that he thought was best for him and his family and he ended up getting less money. Why does it matter? It's over and done with.

Jilted lover syndrome, if you're not dating me I don't want you dating anyone else. I admit I hate seeing JH in another uniform, regardless who it is, would have loved for him to retire a Steeler but I will never harbor any ill will towards him, as long as he doesn't hurt any of our players anyway :lolol:

i like james. he gave dick L. all the credit for his success. i'd love to still have him, but now we get to see if our new LT's will be able to handle him twice a year and maybe more.

I'm just glad they are facing JH at 35 and not 25! I like our line though, I think teams will have a tough time with them.

Geez, guys, can't we be critical of Harrison's greed and stupidity without being accused of harboring ill feelings toward him or of being some kind of jilted lover??!! I think Harrison and his agent are Class A Idiots who greatly overestimated his market value and then started courting the Ratbirds almost immediately. Many Steeler fans, including myself, had issues with his greed and stupidity AND the fact he started sucking up to our most hated rival the minute he was a free agent. That doesn't make us a jealous jilted lover who has a vendetta against him. It just makes us passionate fans.

Good call. Apparently, the embed code I grabbed was different than the video I watched. I didn't notice that they edited parts out there. I edited my post to link to the video. He talks about the Steelers towards the end. The video also autoplayed, which was starting to destroy this thread when quoted. My bad.

100% right on.. he choose to go to teams where he would play the steelers twice to punish them for offering him 1.2 MILLION MORE than the got from the bengals.. if hes mad at anyone he should be mad at himself and his idiot agent...

HINES not a jilted lover WARD

I don't see it as passionate, I see it as irrational and misguided. Many here have said how they don't like Harrison anymore, so the jilted lover analogy fits. And the man over estimated his value, big deal, hardly a good reason for all the hate being directed at him, it's amazing to me how much heat he is taking after all the good he has done for us.

And I appreciate the good he's done for us, but because of his (and his agent's) STUPIDITY, GREED AND DELUSIONAL THINKING when it comes to his market value he has tarnished his legacy in Pittsburgh. He still has a great legacy, but it's not what it could have been. The Steelers rarely miss when it comes to evaluating the market worth of a player and they didn't miss with Harrison. Of course, Harrison and his agent thought that 31 other teams would be lining up to sign a 35 year old linebacker with serious knee and back injuries the last couple of years. STUPID AND GREEDY!!

I could use a microscope and still not see what you guys are talking about! Do you mean this following statement??? "

I understand it's a business so it's not like I can take it personally", said Harrison when asked about his motivation following his offseason dismissal from the Steelers. "But to say that it doesn't motivate me in some sense would be a lie".

Wow, he's just seething with hate :lolol: You guys are funny.

oh jack the knee is fine now.... haha .. hes lifting more weight... hes back to being superman like he was 5 years ago .. just ask him ... its the herbal meds hes taking lmaooooo... the best hes felt in 3 years... well lets see how good he feels when decastro knocks him on his ass and bell runs over him ...id love to see monday night FB against the bengals be his last game.. yeah hes all mad at the steelers for offering him 1.2 million more than the bengals gave him... he played hardball and our FO slammed the door and moved on.. he and/or his agent are to blame but its easier for the not too bright harrison to blame the steelers and whats a shame is some steeler fans cant see it ..

Sorry, I'm not seeing the hatred from him. Pretty hard to considering the way he gushed over Dick LeBeau.

Personally, I have no hatred for JH. I'm still just bummed that I don't get to see what he can do this year being back to good health (as a Steeler of course).

I agree, I don't think the Steelers missed, I think they did what they had to do for the betterment of the team and James overestimated his market value, he's certainly not the first athlete to do that though. No matter how you slice it though, he was asked to take a pay cut, I don't think too many people on this board would be too receptive of that, especially when you factor in how many times JH had Rodger dipping into his pocket and now here come his own employer trying to take money out of his pocket after they agreed to the contract in the first place.

You guys like to throw the word HATE around pretty liberally. I don't hate Harrison and I didn't hate Woodson. I do hate the fact that both of them were so short-sighted that they allowed their own delusions of grandeur to override reason and logic and, at least in Harrison's case, listened to his IDIOT agent convince him that he'll be in great demand on the open market. What the Steelers offered him to stay was a fair offer as he's discovered. I don't have to hate the individual player to hate the fact that they've tarnished their legacy by making a foolish decision that ensures that they won't finish their career wearing the Black & Gold.
