The reason it is such an issue is Killebrew getting hurt and the field failing on Boswell. And Rodgers' comments fanned the fire: "By the time the third quarter rolled around, that thing was really beat up, so I feel bad about what happened to Miles."

Killebrew injury, depending on what it was looks like he planted the foot and it just gave away, doesn't look like any slippage caused that.

So, are you saying the Field is to blame for the Steelers losing Killebrew for the Season? I am still worried that Boz is going to popup on the injury report for his slip and fall on Sunday.

Ben on his Podcast said that Pitt should not be allowed to play at the stadium. I thought they also had High Schools playing at Acrisure Stadium as well as Pitt. It is like their training facility; I don't know of a single NFL team that has to share their Training Facility and a Stadium with a college team. This is just the Rooney's being cheap and not wanting to spend money like the rest of the owners in the NFL.

Aha! Now we know why the Steelers avoid the middle of the field. Mystery solved!!

I say the AstroTurf at Three Rivers was a little bit better than the poorly maintained field we play on in ideal weather today at Heinz Feild.

Where's Carl Spackler when you need him?

“Oh, Mrs. Crane, I’m looking at you. You wore green so you could hide. I don’t blame you—you’re a tramp! Oh! That was right where you wanted it! Oh, Mrs. Crane, you’re a little monkey woman, you know that? You’re a little monkey woman. You’re lean, and you’re mean, and you’re not too far between either, I bet, are ya? Would you like to wrap your spikes around my head?”

Those darn gophers are on the field! Did you see how lousy it was? I am blaming the Browns for dirty tricks. They must have brought them in years ago.

I take Carl over the guy who maintains the field for the Steelers any day and twice on Sundays.

I wonder if they are Irish or are someone's brother? Art Rooney II might be partial to that. Might...

They city owns the stadium, but the Steelers are expected to maintain it.

I kinda agree though... Pitt had a stadium, I don't see any reason why they can't have their own again someday.

And then Highschool plays their playoffs there, I think? ... it's too much.

If Steelers arent going to maintain turf correctly, then rip it up
and put in field turf. We are in and have been in drought conditions
for last 2 months. As JEH said why haven't they been watering resodding
In places where it was bad.Someone has dropped the ball, and should be reprimanded.

Ben has come out and said Pitt needs to build a stadium in Oakland and not play at Acrisure. So the Steelers and SEA are gonna start catching heat.

No, I'm saying it just looked like he planted his foot and the knee gave out. Didn't look like the turf caused it. I mean it could have given way a little, but he was stopping and just planted.

The WPIAL HS championship games are played at the stadium. That has yet to happen.

Pitt has played 4 games so far on the field.

If the Steelers only wanted 8 or 9 games a year on that field they could’ve paid for the stadium instead of being cheap.

I do agree Pitt should have their own stadium because it makes no sense to expect kids to drive 20 minutes to the stadium. You should be able to walk to a college stadium from your dorm.

Pitt had played 4 of their 6 games on this field. It has something to do with it but no field should be this bad after 5 games.

Steelers should switch to the hybrid with real grass and synthetic grass.

The Pittsburgh Steelers announce hiring of a special consultant regarding their stadium grass.

Once again you don’t have a clue what you are posting

Back in 2003 the Steelers did start using the Desso GrassMaster synthetic enhanced turf. Players began slipping during play.

They now use natural grass turf which is the safest and preferred by players. Specifically they use Kentucky Bluegrass which grows well in the area.

See isn’t it fun to learn all you have to do is try
