I'm sure it makes a difference. They talk to the Qbs every week about game plans, every Qb that has played here has said so, but there is a difference in talking to Fields, Trubisky, and Pickett about a game plan, and then talking to Rodgers about a game plan. I also heard Rodgers say that the Vikings didn't bring, or do a lot of what they have been doing all year from the game film that He had watched.

Was this thread dug up because we are doing better? LOL.

I think Rodgers skill set better fits with the Smith offensive game plan. Maybe we are just starting to see it after a break-in period.

You’re quoting yourself and talking about someone else not being able to read. You can’t make this stuff up.

That is probably a Russell Wilson stat more than an Arthur Smith stat. The Steelers didn't run Smith's "system" last year. They ran the limited number of plays that the shambling corpse of what was once Russell Wilson could work with.

I will acknowledge that Smith was protecting some pretty dang limited QBs from getting exposed for big stretches of time in Atlanta...BUT...he is obsessed with multi TEs sets and fiddling with match-ups out of those sets instead of just getting his playmakers the dang ball.

Bottom line is it got him fired in Atlanta.

My biggest concern is that Smith is like version 1.0 of the offensive concepts that lead to the current offensive explosion we have seen over the past 5-10 years in the NFL. But the pendulum is swinging back and defenses have adjusted to big parts of it (basically why the entire league is running Fangio rip off schemes) and most OC's have loaded up version 2.5 or 3.1. Not good old Art though...he still runs the same old stuff. The OG version!

He just call 2 great games in a row in the last 2 games!

Playcalling and gameplan was great in both games!

I just saw a segment on how Smith is using something as basic a 6 OL and running different variations out of it to confuse defenses

I know for sure he had a few plays that were really well designed.

Would that count as the start of a Tomlin coaching tree?

Barzini or whatever Titans' GM who came from KC is, will go after Spagnuolo or some Andy Reid understudy.

All those TE's were a huge reason the offensive line gave up no sacks to a very good defense. They were also used in key spots in the passing game very well. It's not going to work every week, but this week Smith gets a solid A grade in my book.

I just want to know who is responsible for getting Spencer Anderson onto the field. For me, this little move has been a big game changer for the O-Line. If it is Pat Meyer, then I may need to eat some Serious Crow!

And when does Spencer get his first catch of the season???

Might not necessarily be a bad thing especially if the Steelers decide to draft a QB in Rd1 next year. I don't picture Smith as a QB whisperer for a young rookie (although he seemed to have worked a miracle with Fields).

I was very critical of Smith but he has shown some growth these last few games.

Warren not getting touches week 1 was concerning but I think Warren was dinged up.

The biggest thing is getting Washington on the field and limiting Muths snaps. I think everyone knows Washington is the best blocker and has decent hands so he is the perfect TE for this offense. I was afraid we would continue ignoring him.

As far as AR is concerned. Dude is a Hofer nHe is going to make any offense and OC look better. We also are seeing the Jets stink again so his 6 wins were actually more impressive when you use hindsight.
