I loved Skattebo in the pre-draft build. I'm guessing the team would say something along the lines of him not being a good fit for Smith's outside zone scheme, but I'm getting pretty sore about it after seeing performances like last night against the Eagles.

Looks like I may have been wrong about Dart needing a full year before being put on the field. I haven't gotten to see much of him first-hand, but his stats have been pretty efficient thus far and he's doing it with a banged up receiver room.

They did a formal interview at the combine, pretty sure that was it though.

Was on a different board at the time.

Saw him play Texas in the bowl game and thought "The Steelers are going to draft this guy".

But I didn't want him. I wanted us to break out of the strong plodding back mode. Was hoping to get someone more like FWP than Najee.

I liked Skattebo but also liked Johnson and was happy with the pick. As for Dart, first time watching him last night and liked what I saw from him. For the most part I kept seeing him hit his receivers in stride, and on different types of routes.

All his throws last night were pretty accurate

IMHO, I don’t think Skattebo was worth a mid-third, which was where we picked Johnson. By the time it was our turn in the fourth, he was gone. There’s also no guarantee that he would perform as well behind our OL. But all that are conjectures and we roll with what we have

How was johnson worth a mid third?

Anyways, I bet steelers didn't think Scoobedo can return kick offs so they went for "versatility"... oh wait.

I wasn't mad about Johnson, and am not writing him off. Way too early for that. But just purely on RBs I happened to like going in, he was one I really enjoyed watching film on. Johnson looked good too, but his line was frequently clearing airplane hangars for him to run through.

    I noticed that too.

Skattebo is a weapon. They barely even threw it to him last game, wait until they are consistently using him in the passing game.

I don't have any idea what Johnson is missing in practice, but obviously they have no confidence in him. But, I don't see how bringing him in for one carry, then taking him out immediately, makes any sense. I say give him a series or two and see what happens.

They gave him six carries today. The odd part was going to him on the final two drives of the game.

They had the game in hand that's the perfect time to get Kaleb some carries, Warren coming back from an injury and them having a game on Thursday maybe he was on a snap count.

If I recall correctly, Johnson had zero fumbles in college. I wonder if that factored into him getting the carries late. Warren is a really good player, but he has had occasional ball security issues.
