    Yep.
They just need to make it happen when their time comes.
I'm ok with no standouts per se.
Want other teams to think they can pick on them when they're in.

    BOOOM! LIGHTS OUT!!

Kendrell Bell? I don't remember him winning it, but he's the first that popped to mind.

Ben 2004, Louis Lipps 84, Franco Harris 72 for offensive rookie of the year.

    defense
Kendrell Bell 2001, Lambart 74 and Greene 69. Figured they would’ve had more on defense.

Allar sucks. If we draft him then we deserve Friermuth.

I've got friends who are as well and have said the same.

I haven't seen much of him thus far, so I can't say much.

I saw the game today, not really interested in drafting Allar. Right now I think Will Howard is better, and I dont see that changing. What does Allar have to do to change my mind? Win a championship?

    Howard already did that.

Hard to tell this early. Our only top 2 pick (Harmon), missed a couple games to start the season with injury and was on a snap count pre-bye. He's played fairly well, but its hard to make the list with about a game's worth of actual play. The other top picks we made (3rd and 4th round for Johnson and Sawyer) were made a positions of current strength (starter wise) but were made for eventual attrition down the road. Neither were going to be day 1 starters. Black is already rotating in and we took a day 3 QB who has been injured to start the season despite looking pretty solid in camp. Bruener has been great on ST's and quite frankly, I wouldn't really expect him to become a starting caliber ILB. If he's a quality back up and ST ace, then that's more than good with a 7th round pick.

I honestly think that we should really like what we've seen and gotten from Black and Sawyer. Both are on the field and contributing. Neither look out of place, which is quite good for rookie day 3 selections. If both become good rotational players (or future starters) we call that a big win. Johnson is the only real "disappointment" so far imo. Again, its too early to write him off, but RB is a position that you can contribute right away from nearly any selection in the draft and he's not done enough to win the coaches' trust to get real playing time. They gave him opportunities on KO's but had to be pulled because he struggled and then gaffed. He still might end up being a solid player, but as of now, he's the only pick that looks to be less than "advertised".

Its weird how PSU uses him though... I could see him getting into a better system and it being really good for him. He's got a lot of work to do, but he has some really good tools. That ball to the TE should've been caught for a TE on the final drive. It was a great ball and a great read. That play is a TD like 9/10 in the NFL. Also, Allar really only had like 10-12 passing attempts before the 4th quarter. I think its a combo of him being a bit misused and not having a lot of talent around him. Tyler Warren is phenomenal, but he's the only offensive weapon that he's had that is NFL caliber while he's been starting. He's still a projection, but he might still be a good player.

I honestly like Howard a lot too, but Allar is a better runner and has a better arm. Howard plays QB a lot better than Allar right now. Will that be the case forever? Possibly. Maybe not.

Side note, the top prospects right now look a lot different than they did pre-season.... Mendoza, Sellers, Mateer, and Nuss are probably top tier right now. Klubnik, Allar, and Manning in a tail spin. Iamaleava disappearing completely. Does Leavitt and Beck sneak into the top of that second tier? Lots of football left, but things change fast.

Great upset win by UCLA, Iamaleava really helped his cause today. Heard Steelers scouts were at the game (probably looking at both QBs)
